The eyes and lip gloss are really throwing it off. I'm sure a different paint job will make a world of difference. As it stands right now the Bespin Han is a closer Ford match. The unpainted Indy HS is still the best of the bunch though.

Yup, just a paint issue with the eyes. Much better.
Ya, also needs more lighting contrast. Some stronger shadows and highlights would show over the forms of the face better, it looks almost smooth with the flooded lighting.

I'm sure it will look better when we get more pics, these inital preview pics are never very flattering. I just always tend to have knee jerk reactions to them.

Answer to Chewbacca is "No, not any time soon." For the Droids, who knows. I'd like to say SDCC 08 but I think that will be Vader and Stormies.

This is the Han I've wanted since I was so disappointed with the vintage 12" line back in 1978. I now have to have a farmboy Luke - I don't care that we've 2 already this year - everyone chant! 'FARMBOY LUKE!' 'FARMBOY LUKE!'
The sculpt is definitely one of the best Fords we've seen. I think the lighting is washing out his cleft chin which is so important for a young Ford likeness.

I love how crazy some people are. For kicks I decided to look over at the RS boards and someone used this comp shot to express disliking of the sculpt. You can dislike it, but you can't blame it for not matching to a look that's not of the film. The way his hair was and even his face were fatter in ANH than the skinny promo shots like this one, chuckleheads.

But Sean, didn't ya know that the sculpt looks like John Travolta and the costume is sub standard.

This was a nice surprise, but I will stick with my Bespin Han. Don't need duplicates of the same 12" character with limited display space to work with.

I'm wondering if the Lucasfilm style guide says Solo has blue eyes? Wasn't this a problem with the first Han?

I would also rather have a variety of characters than a bunch of the sames as well. Unfortunatly, most of the characters I want are in the EU and don't have models to work from

That's where I'm coming from. Han looked so similar in those movies, I just don't feel the need for multiple versions of him.
I'm of the same mind. Since Bespin Luke came out so spectacularly I'm going to stick with an ESB theme; therefore no need to upgrade Han. So Tom you only have one Luke?

Those eyes are really hurting this preview. The PS'ed pic with darker eyes helps tremendously.

Interesting thought Dave. I think some of the Hasbro 3 3/4 figures of Han used to have Blue eyes before they changed their eye styles. People always forget how much LFL dictates what this stuff will look like when they critique it.
This IS Han. The sculpt is great. With a repaint it will be 100% better.

Yes, I ended up cancelling Bespin Luke since I already have Jedi Luke. I have a Jedi shelf, a Sith shelf, and the Jabba display. All my 12" purchases need to fit into one of those three spots, and ANH Han doesn't make the cut. Neither did ANH Leia or Yavin Luke. But ANH Kenobi is proudly going on my Jedi shelf this month.
