I really wish this was an inclusive edition. I will have 2 computers ready to order at 1 on Friday. Anyway I hope I get the exclusive. Hopefully it will be at least 2000 if not 2500.

I was actually surprised this wasn't an Inc. order.. Kinda weird.

Maybe Dusty or someone from Sideshow can explain why this is not an inclusive. I would think this would be the first figure since Maul that really need to be an inclusive.

I just have a bad feeling about this one.

Has anyone paid attention to how poorly the inclusive editions hold their value?

(Not that I can sell my MIB Jedi Luke Exclusive, mind, but imagine how much larger such a problem would be in case of a figure with no ES...)

I say make it an inclusive time period of 12 hrs. That way you should be able to get to the net or the phone before it goes off sale.

This just doesn't strike me as an Inclusive type of character, I imagine the exclusive version will sell out without question, and the regular edition will follow the pattern of those before it and probably be availalbe for some time or easy to come by. Everyone on these boards just about seems to really want this figure, but we're a small percentage of the pieces made, I don't think there's enough of us posting that owns these figures to make up an exclusive edition size. With Maul, inclusive made sense because he's shown strong marketability for collectibles in the past, and given what his inclusive extras were, even more incentive because most felt the regular Maul should have come with the same things, and then Jabba strikes me as valid for inclusive because it was a unique, unprecedented piece and there was reason to expect high demand for it and great popularity with the collectors. Leia is a great figure, but I just don't see it being as hugely popular, and really don't expect even any Han or Luke figures to ever be Inclusive, I think Vader and Clone/Storm troopers (at least specifics like a commander Gree or Cody) and Boba Fett's and the more sought after collecting characters will be fit for Inclusive versions. Anyway, back to the Leia figure itself, I know most of you want it as is, but I'm crossing fingers that we'll see neutral eyes in the ordering photos Friday.

The idea with the Inclusives isn't to give the figure monetary value of any kind, it's a way of saying, "we think many of you will want this, so here's a way for everyone to get what they want", it's about personal, glad I have it in my collection value, not how much is it gonna get me on eBay value.

Really, you oughtn't worry, Jason. I've never missed a PPO I wanted, and I was ordering online from halfway across the globe. In case you have to phone your order in, Sideshow just trained new staff this Friday to handle the kind of volume PPOs generate. You'll be okay.

(And I'll go on record and say that I'll preorder an exclusive Leia 12" myself just in case you aren't able to get one, and if you do end up missing out, you can have mine at cost. Otherwise I'll cancel and make a waitlister happy.)

This is a fine argument, and it is nice that Sideshow is doing inclusive PPOs. Still, these things are collectibles (yes, even the 12" line), so they can't really discard the notion of collectibility from their ES and pricing decisions.

Anyway, I completely agree with your post right before the one I quoted.

Well thank you so much for your offer. I am sure I will be getting one on Friday but I have to worry about it or I will forget all about it. I need to set a alarm on my phone for Friday. I just cant wait to have her and the rest of the main characters from ANH displayed together.

This is going to be a great year I believe.

Yeah, Leia isn't a character you do a IPPO on IMO. I agree with you MF on why and how of SS doing IPPO's on certain figures. The price of these going up is always nice but overall for me just doesn't make ME love these anymore.

I've checked out the value of some figures out of curiousity, but unless I am desperate for money, I plan to die with my Star Wars collection in my posession so it's irrelevant what they're worth, and I think Sideshow looks at it that way too, I know the idea was raising money for charity, but the whole "Collect For Life" I think reflects a company philosophy of "enjoy these for many many years to come".

No, actually, "Collect for Life" referred to Sideshow's partnership with Lance Armstrong's cancer charity, to which they donate a part of their proceedings.

As in, "collect to support life", not "collect for as long as you live".

That said, click on the link in my current sig to see why it is sometimes important to have a valuable collection. When you hit a rough patch, it's certainly nice to have a fall-back option...

IPPO is for the masses and I think they did the right thing that way. If anyone wants the 'Holy Grail' figure of Exc Jedi Luke or one of the inevitable obscure characters with a very low edtion size like a convention exclusive that type of high value collectible potential is there.

I know what Collect for Life was about, I stated that it was for charity, I was commenting that the sense I get from different interviews with them is that they love this stuff and I could see them embracing a "collect these for the rest of your life" spirit, they make collectibles, but they seem to love them as much as we do, which I think benefits the products.

People like Maul that dont like Leia, same with Vader and Fett. That is why those figures were and hopefully will be Inclusive. Leia doesnt need to be Inclusive at all.

And the whole "collection to fall back on" notion, I appricate the situation and I normall only sell things that either just do not fit my overall collection or to fund other purchases, but I would never sell things becuase I have no other source of funds in an emergency, I would never put myself in that position. I am lucky now in that if an emergency comes up I can take care of it, but in the future I fully plan on making wise investments and also making sure I have a stash in the bank wish is emergency cash only. Something everyone should do as much as humanly possible. Hopefully though, your situation can be sorted out Seretur.

Thanks, it will be sorted out, I'm certain.

If there's one thing I've learned from my 36 years of life, and the armies and wars I've been through, it's that you can never have enough of a cushion to fall back on in every single emergency. Everyone finds that out after a while, unfortunately. Although I do hope you get spared.

I agree. I think they do feel that way and this is was part of the reason the slogan was chosen.
