amazing............more like idiotic..........

Well as the second highest bidder, I guess I will comment :)

I never would have thought I would bid $610 on this item EVER (especially as I have a custom 1:1 WiKi Crown, plus WiKi of Angmar statue and bust) but seeing that this item has sold for $950 the last few times, it didn't seem as outrageous. For me personally, I would have wanted to at least see it in person once, then probably would have sold it for a $200 profit, put that towards Legolas/Gimli on Arod.... :naughty

removes foot from mouth..................sorry................it just seems awlful high for a helm...............sort of like orthanc original $90 going for over $1000................I just hate to see all of these pieces going for super high prices..............but I realize that the ones that are catching the high prices are the ones that have a very limited edition size...............

I consistently bid early when these helms pop up, but watch the prices soar past what I can afford to spend. It would be the only helm I still need, but I hope the prices keep dropping. I can understand throwing a few more bucks after the grail items though:D

One man's idiot is another man's hero :naughty ......

It's always hard to say. If you tell some people you just spend 400 bucks on a statue, some will say "great", but most will say "idiot" :D .

Well what do you expect when people go to bid on it after you, only to see they've been outbid, so bid again to try to bid you! I say, if you possibly can, wait until nearly the end of the auction, then bid!

I usually bid early only because I know my spending limits on this particluar piece. It is purely an unreal expectation, since I can't afford higher prices like this right now, so I bid when I see this helm and then let it ride. I don't want to catch up in a bidding fever for this piece, and I know it will usually exceed my limit. If I was really interested and willing to pay more, of course I would wait until the last possible minute before throwing down with a bid.

I like to place a reasonable bid early and just let it ride, as it is a way to track the auction, and who knows, I may get lucky with it someday!:D

Rarity and hype my friend, that is what keeps this one moving - as with most pieces. :angelsmil

It really depends, the New-born also has a size of 500, but the price has been tumbling like crazy recently..... the market forces determines everything...

I do the same thing Seaward... and it actually works sometimes. Once I got an Army of Darkness Ash for 10 bucks!. I mean, yeah the sculpt was off on that fig, but still.... You can't beat that. A SSC 1/6th pigure for less than the price of a DVD or a pizza? Sweet deal.

I've gotten a few of my figs for 15 to 20 bucks and that is still a steal... It's always best for me to just post what I can afford and wait it out.

I've often gotten lucky on ebay with mis-spelled auction listings this way. Sometimes people are too lazy to search, and a seller's ignorance or mistake can become a blessing. I figure, when I sell an item, I am responsible for how it is presented, so be it.

I realize that the price is that high these days - but I would not trust that much to a seller with only 10 feedback. I just can't risk it.

Lead me to recall what Boromir said in FOTR: "It is a strange fate that we should
suffer so much fear and doubt over so small a thing...such a little thing."

I have the bust in ebay and it comes with the helm right on top! about 700 bucks cheaper too:D

I dont understand how someone can pay 1000 for the helm when you can have the statue for less but I guess thats whats wanting the whole bust collection is all about:eek:

Hey, you're kokotazo! I bought a couple of orc helms from you a while back. I WISH I could buy the WiKi bust from you, but I need to find someone that takes a "payment plan"... :naughty
