Re: Aaayyy! The Fonze by Chris Howes Interest Thread!!!

Alright, glad to have you aboard :duff

Do you want just the head, or painted as well?

I'm still up for this and would buy a few extra casts if that's what it takes to get it done. :)

Hey thanks! But we have some time on this one...... Those who are interested, please spread the word. I forget if this one got cross posted or not on MWD and OSW? Any other forums you can think of? I got to believe there's enough interest in the Fonz!!!! I mean, he's just so damn cool!

Has there been discussion about the clothes? We need a killer jacket, of course. :D

See... I grew up idolizing guys like Fonzie and Vinnie Barbarino because they got a lot of chicks. You know what happened to Fonzie and Vinnie Barbarino?

Their shows got canceled. Because no one wants to see a fifty-year-old guy hitting on chicks.

Unless you're a fifty year old guy who likes chicks!! :D

There might have been some shark jumping involved in the cancellations.....

Glad to see a bump interest... I'd be willing to cover extra cost to make a figure happen as well. But I'm still hopeful we'll get 10 people.

I did post this at OSW... what is MWD, and can someone repost the thread there?

Al looks awfully proud of himself...... I wonder where that thumb has been? :horror

Let me know when you can't live without one of my projects..... (I'm thinking Fonzie..... :D)

So, I did some work to try and get a Fonze jacket in 1/6. Basically I took the jacket from the Connor McCleod figure (thanks Buttmunch) and removed the studs and gave it 3 coats of paint to go from this:

To this:

It's not 100%, but pretty close. Not positive how dark it should be, but his jacket is definitely a dark brown. Biggest issue is the pockets (while the correct orientation) are off. And the holes look bad in the picture... but really aren't noticeable in person.

I just realized if we get this figure going we NEED the shark!!

I used to do a lot of work for Safari, LTD. They make a lot of animal figures. I punched up the line with higher quality work for a couple of years. Most of the good newer stuff from them is mine. If you see crappy Safari sculpts those are generally older and not mine! There was an interal shakeup there a year and a half ago and I didn't have time to stick around through the train wreck so I opted to not continue our relationship. Oh, well, I got some nice small scale animal work out of it!

You can see a few of them on my website in the "Animals" category. The Bison is a favorite of mine. I never did a shark, but I'm sure Safari has a few versions..... Just a thought!

Poor Henry Winkler. I can see the displays now. :D
