Yes, I don't consider a 1995 laser disc transfer (never even cleaned up) on DVD 'co-existing'.

I just hate the continuous "erasing" of previous editions. I'd really love a box set of fully restored high definition transfers of all *four* versions of SW:ANH.

The original 1977theatrical with no "Episode IV" moniker
The 1981 rerelease with Episode IV A New Hope opening crawl
The 1997 Theatrical SE and the 2004 DVD SE.

My preferred version is the 1981 "Episode IV" release but each release was an event in and of itself and they all should be preferred, IMO. That's a lot to include but other movies have gotten the royal treatment, why not Star Wars of all films?

That pic of the sarlacc's innards makes it look even more like the vulva of death that it's always been, except that now it has that beak-tongue thing giving it hermaphroditic overtones, and rendering it a thing of horror beyond comprehension.

Yuck.

I don't mean to add to this thread that's been derailed, but I really hope Lucas reworks the films again for Blu-Ray. The music in the OT needs to be updated (there's an obvious lack of the Imperial March and any human vocals, unlike the PT), the Death Star attack in ANH needs to be CGI and make it a space battle instead of a few ships shooting at each other. The Jabba scene needs to be redone AGAIN with a realistic Jabba, the Sarlacc needs to be redone to look realistic, as does Sy Snootles. I could go on and on, but those probably bother me the most.

All that stuff would be awesome IF the Blu-Ray comes with the option to watch them as they were theatrically released too, but in HD. A Blu-Ray disc definitely has enough space for both.

Ironically since you posted that photo i can see the likeness more than ever:eek:

I think the only thing missing is that the bags under his eyes should be bigger, and his top eyelids should be higher. Otherwise, it's him, but I think he suffers from the same problem a lot of their likeness do, and that's eyes. If the eyes are off, it throws the rest.

Even though there's the sandtrooper PPO this Friday, what are the chances Piett would go up for sale in this week's newsletter?

i think it is about time Piett goes up for preorder. but i dont know if it'll be in this Thursdays newsletter.....i sure hope so.

You think SSC might do the pre-orders for both figs the same day different times like they did w/Vader & stormy? :huh

Yes, Adywan's edit is awesome. The only thing I don't like in it is the Alderaan explosion, I thought the DVD version was better. I love the blinking and talking aliens, especially Greedo. He looks more intimidating and angry than before. Space battle had some good improvements as well.

There where some great things on that edit, but once again there are things where you ask why oh why was that needed. just like the SE

I agree. But I also would have liked to see more pictures and have more info on this figure.

I'd be shocked if it didn't.

Nope, with Vader and the Stormie they announced ahead of time it'd be a dual PPO, we didn't get that with this.

Not sure has everyone seen this. Grabbed this image from cooltoyreview.com. Here we see more of the body.

Nice find, Puay. You can see he is holding a blaster. I'm really up in the air about this one. I'll look at the pics when he goes up, but I don't know if I'll order him or not. I definitely want the Sandtrooper, so that one takes priority over Piett.

I think a deciding factor for most fans is the likeness of the head sculpt. One thing I noticed from the image, since this figure is on a Pro, I thought I dont see those "monkey arms" from a Buck anymore.:D

Yeah, that is what's nice about the pro. I also noticed his suit looked a little puffy and fuzzy. Maybe with some futzing it would look better. I don't know, I guess we'll have to wait until Thursday.
