Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I saw that more as Ward "choosing" a side, like the deal Garrett (better?) offered Fitz. He sees an opportunity to join HYDRA and grabs it by helping Garrett escape.

Nah he's been hydra all along, also the bullets are real he shot the dude right in the head. I also don't think he's brainwashed like winter soldier, he was never kidnapped or unaccounted for.

The one thing no one mentioned that I think is very important is what May said about fury wanting to keep an eye on coulson and even kill him if he begins to turn into something. This to me is now the biggest mystery of all, who or what will coulson become.

Really shines some light on Ward shooting the vegetable man to keep him quiet. I'm thinking Victoria Hand is obvious as Hydra, maybe too obvious. Maybe she knows who the traitor is and will be a good guy but I doubt it

Good job man, you pretty much got everything correct :wink1:

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Great episode tonight. Finally something that really feels like it ties into the films and not just a passing bump in. After what happened in Winter Soldier, this show is our one view into what is going on in the Marvel Universe until Avengers 2 comes out in a year (I don't think Guardians is going to tie much into anything as I assume it going to be mostly off Earth). This is a great tool for them now rather than something to just pass the time. It will be curious to see how some of the bigger players like Fury, Hill, Widow, Hawkeye, etc might interact with the show now since SHIELD is much more limited that it used to be. I can at least see Hill becoming a regular with HIMYM now being finished. That would allow her to pop on over to this show as a regular and not just a pilot cameo.

I'm glad I kept with the show now. I feel it started way too slow, but the pay off has been great. I'm guessing everyone ABC/Disney/Marvel knew the outline for the year because I think this show might have been on the bubble earlier in the season after it plummeted in the ratings after the pilot. Good to see some foresight and willing to let things get up to pace for a change.

I'm hoping ward is a hydra agent or a traitor. The whole "I'm gonna be a bad guy but in reality I'm a good guy undercover" thing has been done to death.

Even if he is a good guy undercover, could you ever really trust him again. Whose to say he isn't a triple agent? Or would that quadruple? :lol

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Great episode all around tonight.

Ward being the traitor seemed obvious. So obvious, in fact, I do kind of wonder if we're not being played, too.

If it is real, I was glad they held it back, though, until the very end. But as soon as Ward asked to escort Garrett I knew he was going to be revealed as Hydra, too. No great loss to me, to be honest, if it is true. I liked how the writers tried to convince us he wasn't a bit boring one last time (even having Skye directly say so!) before he switched. The way Coulson watched him go, though, kind of made me wonder if he had an inkling about something? Also, all the stuff with the guards in the hall really makes more sense if Ward isn't a real traitor, too. But if that scene was just Coulson wondering about Ward, it seems pretty cold not to tell Hand! Speaking of which, I was sorry to see Hand gunned down. I liked her on the show. That more than anything makes me want it to be a ruse. But, if that's the case and Hand and the other agent's deaths are faked... I wonder what the plan is? Are they headed to the Fridge? How do you effectively fake three deaths at close range with a trained military man witnessing it all? I mean, fake blood packs and all that, sure... maybe they inject themselves with Icer serum to knock them out? I think it's all possible, but it's a pretty big fake out.

It'll be interesting to see where it goes from here. It seems like SHIELD is more just gone officially, but there will be plenty of scattered bases here and there—both for Hydra and SHIELD.

And who is Hill working for now but Tony Stark per the end of TWS. Hill can be Stark's liaison for Coulson and the team providing them funding, tech, and missions. Coulson and the team can still be called Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but they will actually work for Stark and the Avengers. Hill can become a main character that way. Plus, it allows the team to be the eyes and ears of the Avengers and build plot threads towards Age of Ultron charting what happens over the course of the year leading up to that film in the MCU just like people have said.

I agree with everybody here. Another outstanding episode and a pitch perfect way to follow up TWS. Ward's nefarious turn had been hinted at from some other sources but I didn't buy it. Should have though. He could be a double agent but I kinda doubt it. Those were gunshots not icer shots. Hand and Co. are dead. Now, remember back episodes ago when Ward was talking about his family and his brother who apparently had died and Ward couldn't save him. Well, what if Ward was actually talking about himself, not any brother. He's the bad seed. And his family may have been Hydra from the very beginning. If a brother ever existed, Ward probably was the one who killed him. I think Ward is a true psychopath and may be the Taskmaster character that was alluded to as being part of the series at one point. Who knows.

We are missing the obvious Marvel 616 SHIELD/Stark tech that so far we have not seen (though Tony mentioned them in The Avengers) in the MCU--LIFE MODEL DECOYS!!! They replaced Hand and her agents with LMDs and fooled Garrett. Holy ****!!! I hope that's the case.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I stopped watching the show after 3 or 4 episodes. It was simply too boring and reminded me of V.I.P. with Pam Anderson (anybody remember that show). Unfortunatly we dont habe Pam at Shield, so there was no reason for me keep watching the show. Anyway, looks like Shield has made a turn around and mproved significantly, judging from your last statements here. Might give this another chance. To be honest I would have loved to like it, because the concept of the show is just cool...

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

I geeked out at the moment where they said Fury was dead. I was like 'Winter Soldier did that ****!'

Any chance of a Chris Evans cameo this season?

I think we are being played, thanks to yruh8n's theory. There is something else going on that we haven't fully seen yet. Too many things that just dont add up. Why go through that whole touching scene with Ward and Skye if he was Hydra and using them all along? Why not just kill her in the closet and be done with it? Why does Coulson take Ward away from the team to tell him something we can't hear (we are led to believe it is him telling him about Paxton being the Clairvoyant). If he was telling him about Paxton, then why separate him from the rest of the team? Why didn't he show the same courtesy to Triplett who was Paxton's current trainee?

In a show/universe where we have seen so much deception and misdirection, I don't think we have all the information yet to say definitely one way or another that Ward is Hydra and that Victoria Hand is dead. I wouldn't be surprised if next week we find out that everything we think we know is wrong...again. :lol

BTW, did anyone else catch when Paxton screwed up and accidentally said that the woman in the flower dress (Raina) was brainwashed too? Maybe she could become a "good" guy? Anything to give her more screen time.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Agreed last nights show was awesome. I like a couple of you thought Hand was too obvious and that Ward was a more likely case for what happened. I admit I didn't think Paxton was going to go that direction but it was a nice twist. I loved the little references to the movie and even a couple clips via the video screens. I really have loved this show from the start but them going for strong tie-ins will be really fantastic. I agree with BM that this is going to be our main look at the world for the next year until Avengers 2 comes out.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

i just got done watching last nights episode. such a great episode. loved how they kept us guessing which agents were Hydra agents. cant wait to find out what happens next week.

Re: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series!

Here is another thing that was peculiar about Ward's behavior. Why did a bad@$$ black ops guy shot Hand at point blank range in the shoulder, especially after he took out the other two guys with head shots? Maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Agreed. I think this board is infested with Hydra agents. :lol

It appears Colbie Smulders will be back as Maria Hill starting April 29th.
