I enjoyed this one better than the pilot but still wasn't thrilled. I thought it started off good but once it became the "retake the ship" story it got bland quickly.
Coulsons comment on "a magical place" got me thinking so I'm hoping it becomes something original.
Skye's text wasn't unexpected but the outcome seams very predictable.
The funny part is that predictable is what Whedons style isn't so I'm hoping for improvement.

I'm getting the feeling we're being set up to think that.

Whedon is not writing this series. He did write the pilot and is getting creator credits, but the day to day writing is being handled by his brother Jed and his wife Maurissa Tancharoen. Not to say that these two cannot do a good job (they both did good work on Dollhouse), but unless Joss writes more episodes, I don't know if this series will be that similar to Joss' other series in terms of viewers expectations to Joss' style, twists/turns, etc.

I'm always embarrassed to tell people that i've never watched BB or SOA either.

I haven't seen either one myself.

Breaking Bad is over. And it never fell apart. So now...we can call it one of the best shows of all time.

If Breaking Bad ain't yo thang. No worries. But you should give it a try. It's pretty much free to watch on Netflix, all the way until the last half of season 5. And it's all over. Which means you can catch up pretty easily now.
