His feet tho! :lol

Got a chance to see an early screening of this. Pretty mediocre. On the same level as the 2017 "Beauty and the Beast".

The biggest problems are the pace and acting by the title character. The movie seems like it wants to be big and grand, but feels very artificial and slow. Shots are boring and lack a sense of excitement. Heavy use of poorly rendered CGI landscapes make the shots feel claustrophobic rather than beautiful. Similar feel to the Star Wars prequels.
It isn't helped by the actor that plays Aladdin, who constantly comes off as relaxed and chill, even in what are supposed to be suspenseful scenes. His charisma is so understated that he is very hard to connect to, let alone feel emotionatlly invested in. A big example is the early street chase scene, which is moved a bit later in the movie so he can have it with Jasmine. Instead of something fast paced and exciting, Aladdin is slowly jogging so he can hit his marks on cue with the music. The guy comes off like he just did the same take 30 times and now is too tired to really put effort into it. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if this is the last leading role he ever has given how underwhelming he is in this.

Naomi Scott however is really awesome as Jasmine and there is a noticeable contrast in her quality of acting compared to her costar. Will Smith's genie is fine. Pretty much what you'd expect from him. I was fine with it but I know some of you weren't big fans. Jafar is pretty underwhelming as well but the actor doing the best he can. He just doesn't do sinister well.

Yup, they should have hired Tom Cruise as Aladdin. :chase

I think HT will pass... maybe Genie but I doubt anybody would buy it. Aladdin no chance because the actor isn't famous. I think Jasmine is unlikely too, but would have a better shot.

Pretty much what I expected to NOT see....

Ill just watch the original if I need an Aladdin fix.

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

Yea, that scene is a pretty good example of the whole tone of the movie. Everything just kind of feels like its dragging and lacks energy.

This! It feels dull. All these remakes feel so dull in comparison to the energy and colorful vibrant originals. They just feel like nostalgia bait. He guys remember this? Pay money to see a dumb down version of the animated classic you loved

I like the new trailer showing Jafar as the Genie..so they are really emphasizing the originality of the cartoon ideas
