Say what you will about Nanjin but this is a very nice move he didn't have to do:

There's no comment on future pre-orders. I think he'd be crazy to do the same with all of them. THat's a looooot of money out of profits.
Sounds great, except that I still have not received any email or reply from them about my lost Picard. At this point I'd rather they just refund me so I can order one through Sideshow or Timewalker, while they still have him.

Guys,

Just wondering the pulse of the hobby but how has the economy ( layoffs, stock market correction, tariffs) affected your ST toy purchase decision ? Have you scaled back, selling your figures with success and or change your buying habits Or are you buying still every ST figure coming out over eggs 😆

I'm not getting EVERY one, but I'm getting most of them.
I just got hired on for a second (and possibly 3rd) position at another university, so I'm okay for money... for now.
What I've cut back is basically everything except Exo figures. No more Hot Toys, no more 3Zero, nothing but Trek. It has to be a real Grail figure (Like Batman Returns Catwoman) to tempt me.
For instance, I finally got Flashback's Dexter figure yesterday, and as I told my wife, that pretty much completes my horror shelf. Unless someone makes a Tony Todd Candyman, I'm out on horror.

Damn, that’s tempting, thanks. I’ve been told I need to wait 8-10 days for a resolution, so need to think.
BBTS has her in stock as well (1 unit) so you have a little time between the two. Fingers crossed.

I'll continue to order directly from Exo-6- their shipping has been a perfect experience from the start! I will never order another figure (or anything else) from the USA ever again.
All the best characters are yet to come (TOS) so Nanjin will be getting a lot of sales from me!
Thanks for the question! 🚀🖖

So I saw a post by Nanjin on FB. He seems to be implying issues with the production of TNG. I can't really make sense (as usual) of what he's saying. He seems to say that because of the tariffs he's going to speed up production of the crew. Which frankly I'd rejoice if it means we finally get Riker and Worf - who I have been hoping for ever since QMX showed them back in 2017 or whenever it was. But also says "ideal conditions no longer valid" and "such a pity Murphy's Law to take place when we are halfway through TNG". I've included a screen grab in case anyone can decipher what he's saying. For the last couple of years I've suspected we might never see these guys, along with the classic movie-era crew. Cannot say how irritated I would be if we wind up with 12 Picards, 2 Datas, Geordi, and Crusher. And Wes???? In my opinion - and I know it's only my personal preference, that's a pointless representation of the crew. Just don't understand why he couldn't have wrapped up TNG a year ago. Then again, at least I have my bearded, disco version of McCoy (that appears for all of 3 minutes on screen), so I have that oddball version to complete my Classic Trek movie lineup. Hopefully when he says he's speeding things up we actually finally get Riker and Worf. As usual, I've no idea how to take his post.

Gosh, what does this spell for the other series? I wonder if we get core cast from here and tertiary if we’re lucky.

Yeah, the whole situation sucks. I wonder if there’s doom for the rest of the line. The way his posts are recently it seems a bit up in the air. If that’s the case sucks that we started with everything but TOS.

Nanjin wants these figures. At the very least he wants the poster crew for TOS TNG DS9 and TWOK era movies. I think he will at least get those done. The left field figures were when they had some extra funds due to sales and extra time between production of the other figures.

Nanjin has had the sky is falling posts before, but he's pushed through them. With this one I think he is predicting the left field figures won't get a lot of orders due to increased prices. Trek collectors (not 1/6 collectors) are a frugal bunch usually, one could go to Trek sites and see the posts when Exo-6 first started and a majority of them balked at the 170-200 price tag, bringing up the old Playmates 12-inch line and why can't Exo6 match that price point. 1/6 collectors tend to collect a wide range of figures, and some may cut Trek for other IPs or just stick to main characters, or even trios like Kirk Spock McCoy.

We've all already read posts here from before the tariffs of collectors focusing on certain crews or characters due to financial reasons. Nothing wrong with that, I probably should follow that thinking too, but I'm weak willed when it comes to Trek.

All that said, if things don't change, I think we will see main characters only and stuff like Romulan Kirk, Vadic, and sadly Garak may never get made.

I don't think we have much to worry about regarding our toys and the tariff situation - this will all get resolved at some point, and maybe hits just a couple of pending EXO-6 releases at most.

But - I've been wrong before (I remember that maiden maritime voyage I booked back in 1912) so we'll have to wait and see :dunno 🙂

Pretty sure he was not talking about production issues, but that to compensate for the tariffs he will have to reduce production quantities. Less quantities mean less time between figures, hence it will mean speeding things up. But it also means they might be harder to order.
