Alert: Sideshow more recasts on ebay.

Are you for real. Alot of collectors of SS product hang out here. As well as notifying SS by posting this thread I am also making fellow collectors know that there are ^^^^^^^s "RECASTING ILLEGALLY" licensed products which in no way can be justifed. SO WHAT if he is being truthful in his description. He is still selling illegal product.

Yes, I am for real. I am well aware that many SS collectors hang out here since this is a SS collectors board. IMO you don't need to let other collectors know this guy is selling illegal products because the seller plainly does that himself by pretty much saying it's a knock off.

I know what the seller is doing is illegal and I don't "approve" of it either. I am just saying that if I chose to take action I would notify SS of the illegal activity. All YOU can do is get an auction pulled and maybe get a seller banned, BUT do you honestly think this guy won't be back in month ( or a day ) doing the same thing?

If you notify SS and they choose to take action, they could probably find out WHO the guy is and really go after him for making illegal knock offs of their products.

you guys need to chill a bit....you are all trying to accomplish the same thing and all have valid points...Kit has a legit point..the seller states its a knockoff and all he is saying that if you take care of the issue at the source it will stop...at SSC....not at EBay...you honestly think EBay gives a ^^^^ about you the buyer? They dont care...and he's right the guy will be back next week with a new CC card on file with EBay and a new username selling the same stuff....It's a buyer beware market and honestly if you do buy it after reading the title and think its real....you deserve the fake

Exactly, kill the problem at the source instead of just trimming the weeds.

If the parent company chooses to take no action then it's never going to stop. These sellers are not going anywhere and who wants to spend time reporting every "fake" auction to eBay. There are TONS of them and eBay may remove some, but they really don't care and the same sellers will return.

I guess the way I look at it is Sideshow will ahve to go thru the appropriate legal channels to get any action taken. Which wouldnt be a quick process.

In the meantime, said recaster rakes in $10k in auctions further financing his recasting ways and making the chance he's taking completely worthwhile,.. while also raising money to legally defend himself....

I see what you're trying to say. I just look at it like it's SS's product being knocked off so in reality they should be the ones really upset. And while SS would have to go through a legal process it would stop this seller for good. Hell, SS contacting the seller might even scare the guy enough to stop since they would know WHO and WHERE he is.

I was never huffy, puffy or in a tizzy over this. I have no idea where you got that I was. I stated my opinion. I called you a pansy because you seemed to be the one in a tizzy over me not agreeing with how someone was going about this. I have never once been upset in this thread.

so how is selling this item illegal? unethical, yes, but isn't the seller in china? certainly not 'illegal' to do what they are doing there. ebay probably won't do anything being that the description is honest. reporting it to sideshow may send some flack to the factory in china, but you most likely have figured that these were created at the time of the original run, which was some time ago and the seller was waiting to sell. he probably doesn't even work at the factory anymore. good luck.

It is illegal and SSC should be notified so they can take action with ebay and with the seller. They are the ones that need to "report the auction" to ebay.

Recasting and illegal selling hurt the collectible hobby in very many ways, and anyone suggesting that they would support or condone this kind of thing is only hurting themselves and fellow collectors in the long run.

I think thats why Sideshow abandonned the Marvel comiquette line...its too easy to recast..while their PF is too difficult to reproduce by simple recaster.

Or you could say it's up to BM to take action against those doing it like it's up to SS to take action again this guy and not the internet police. People can notify SS if they see it and it's up to SS after that. People here go on the all out attack like they are personally going to sue over it.
