That thing is ginormous!

And a sculpting masterpiece!
AMAZING work!

No wonder it's so dead on...the ADI guys did it! Can't get closer than that.
Got me thinking....flexpay....maybe...wow!

Even if it is closer to Giger's original design I'd much prefer the man-in-suit of Alien or Aliens. The pose doesn't do much for me either. Of course I'd completely dismissed getting the Predator PF before I saw him in person - no way was I paying $1000 for no statue. That didn't last long either....

I need to avoid this thread. :monkey1

the pose is one of the things I actually like in particular.
A nice break from the traditional standing pieces I have many of

Terry, calmate! It's not an action figure! It won't sell out!

...well, in the first six months, at least. ;)

If they extended the FlexPay option to five or six months, I would get this thing. It is the one ultimate Alien piece I ever wanted -- yes, above any other film's design. And the actual sculpt is SO beautiful.

I have been waiting for SS to produce an Alien maquette ever since I got my exclusive predator maquette. Though this is a nice looking piece, I'm quite disappointed they've chosen to produce a maquette from arguably the worst movie of the series. Looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer.

I don't get this hate for Alien3.
It's miles above A:R or AvP, it has a great cast, brilliant cinematography and at heart a very sad and touching story that revolves around loss and redemption.
I wonder what would've happened if Fincher had got a better script and had more time and power to do things the way he believed they should've been done.

But he didn't... which is exactly why I personally consider this movie to be the weakest of the four. Do I hate this movie.....no, I actually like it. I just don't like it as much as the other three. To me, Aliens was not only the high water point of the series, but it remains one of the best sci fi films I have ever seen.

I'm more inclined towards Alien. I feel it is timeless whereas Aliens feels a bit dated sometimes.
Still, I love all of them! :D

The hate for Alien 3 is there because of a lot of reasons:

Bad follow up to the incredible ALIENS movie.
They killed off Hicks and Newt...ridiculus.
It was originally going to be Aliens all over again but this time on Earth. The first teaser even hinted at it. What could have been. :(
Lame ending.

Cameron at one point was supposed to direct it but backed out.

For me, it's an ok movie. I too think it's much better than A:R or AVP.

All really good points... for me the movies go in descending order from Alien being my favorite to AVP and A:R battling it out at the bottom. I don't think any are terrible. But Alien and Aliens are just mind-blowing!

I agree. Alien 3 is a sorely unappreciated masterpiece. I love this film. I like it even more than Aliens. When I was 14 I thought Aliens was the best film ever made but the older I get I see how juvenile the film is. Fun, but juvenile. Alien 3 is more mature and rich in substance. People die. poo happens. Alien Resurrection is the putrid turd of the Alien Franchise. I have the box set and want to use this disc as a drink coaster. That film is so awful that words cannot describe it and all I have to say is Newborn Alien and my stomach wretches with vomit. Winnona Ryder was just embarassingly awful. Sigourney was wooden as the clone Ripley. Everything about this film... the direction, the music, the cinematography, the production design, and most of all the putrid Joss Whedon script, should never have seen the light of day. I would rather be forced to watch repeated viewings of Batman & Robin in a straight jacket with my eyelids pryed open than to watch that film ever again.
