Those are some of the clearest pics I've ever seen of a 1:6 figure, fantastic King!
These damn things are quite addicting!

I wouldn't. Sculpey has a tendency to crack and break. I still think those Dragon rubber arm sleeves would work just trim them off at the hands and slide them on. You can cut as much off the forearms as needed.

The dealer I spoke to about them said they were loose on his Dragon figures... loose on male arms  That's why I decided against them. I don't really know as I've never owned a set to try. I wish someone would to end the mystery.

I would like to slice the sleeve down the arm -- remove a slim sliver the same way -- and re-glue to narrow the arms. But I doubt glue will last very long on rubber like that, besides adding to its deterioration.

I agree not Sculpey, but something more like Epoxy Putty such as Milliput would work.
Those arm sleeves might also work a bit better.

No don't slice them down the seam. They should slide on over the arms with some warm water. They will be a little loose but for posing purposes no one will know. The rubber leg sleeves on my T-800 are a little loose in the thighs but with the pants on you would never know. I am half tempted to get some for Ripley just to try it.

Those arm sleeves came from the Modern Dragon US M-240 Gunner Baghdad "Fernando".
I've seen him parted out and the body with sleeves available at a few places, but I just cheeked and couldn't find any available.

I know they slide on, but the guy said they're way too big. Still, buy 'em and try 'em. Its really the only worthwhile option... for Vaz AND Sarah Connor.

I forgot about Sarah. Yes, we will definitely need to try it for her. All of our "ladies" need some guns.

The feet aren't very difficult to remove if you loosen up the laces and soften them up considerably in hot water as Les suggested. Very different story with Vasquez though, her feet were a real pain in the ass to remove since she doesn't have two splits separating the tongue like the male boots, my hands were still hurting a day afterwards.

I think the boots on the HT Marines are correct scale perhaps a bit too large, but the shin guards are too thick and don't secure tightly enough to the legs. The Newline boots should be about the right size, Dragon boots typically are a bit smaller then Hot Toys' boots so I'd avoid them.

My Drake came with the one piece boot that connects directly to the leg post. They are considerably smaller than the regular HT type laced boots. I have heard mixed reports on whether Hudson comes with this type of foot or an individual foot with laced boots. Either way, I will be ready. I'm leaning toward getting the Newline boots for him. I have a pair on another figure, and they are absolutely gorgeous, even without the ankle reinforcement.

Ah, so it's true for Drake at least. Damn that sucks. I was surprised by Vasquez's boots, thought they'd be identical to the Jungle Nam' boots, nope they're more like all black modern work boots with the laces coming from metal hooks rather then eyelets. Didn't know they were like that in the film, Drake's must be the same.

This whole foot thing has me mystified...

So let me get this straight: Hicks, Hudson, Apone and Ripley have FEET in their boots... but Drake and Vasquez DO NOT HAVE FEET, just pegs glued in the boot. Is that right?

If so, maybe it has something to do with stability because of the smart gun. Thus the change in the boots as well.

From what I have read on other boards, the first run of marines (Apone, Hicks and Vasquez) have regular feet with separate boots. The new run (Hudson and Drake) have one piece boots. Although, I have read some reports that at least some Hudsons have feet and boots. Don't have mine yet, so I can't check. it seems that Ripley has feet and boots. It's not really that big of a deal if you don't plan on switching out the boots, but if you do, you will need to find some Hot Toys feet, which pretty much means you will have to get a nude body. Apparently, this all started with the SOCOM figure that HT put out. That was the first with one piece bootfeet. There are several figures out there who use them now. I don't have a complete list.

Ah-HA! So that's the story. OK, thanks DBoz...

Now I'm really curious to remove the boots from all my marines and see.

BTW, we're nearly at 58,000 views! Jesus, when did we pull so far ahead of "that other thread". :) NICE!

My Ripley foot broke when trying to put the boot on. I had to send the whole figure back to Sideshow. Still waiting on the replacement. I think we could use mine as an example of why Hot Toys decided to switch over to a footless boot.

Vasquez has feet. So does Ripley, Hicks, and Apone, I've seen them myself.
I think the issue here is that the boots can look a little big with feet in them so they decided to try it without the whole foot and use just boot feet. Huge mistake.

This explains it all...
