Sorry to interrupt your posing frenzy guys, but after reviewing AvP, I have a question.

Which AvP Predator to get?

Because I really like the Alien design, I bought the two AvP Aliens from SSC in the past. They rock, although the original Alien design from 'Alien' is better IMO. And even if it's 'not done', I was going to pose these AvP Aliens together with Ripley. Fortunately, HT made an 'Aliens' Alien, so, I'll have a proper companion piece for Ripley (I don't like the marines, which would have done the job also).
But what to do with my AvP Aliens now... ? Somehow I think, the AvP Aliens are not complete, without at least one AvP Predator. But which one? I got on the wait list for the Japanese Exclusive Predator Elder. Seams the best buy to me, considering the low ES. AvP is not my favorite movie, so I'm not looking for a Predator in particular, just the smartest acquisition really. So, which one to buy?

The only two Predators I'd buy in a heart beat, would be the ones form 'Predator', and Predator2. Those have nothing to do with the Alien universe, and frankly, that's the way I like it best.

Well, if you're into the original Predator design I agree that one of the exclusive elder preds is your best option, just kinda tough to find nowadays.
Other than that I guess it's up to personal taste, each of the four other preds are cool in one way or the other: Scar 'cause he's the "hero", Celtic has (IMHO) the best mask design, Chopper has the cool skull rig on his back and Elder the snarling face and cape which makes him look very regal.

Great shots of Vas, W-G! She definitely looks like her badass self now, and that tank top completes the look. As soon as I can get me some Cheong sleeves I'm going to try the shrink treatment recipe, too. Thanks for the tips and the pics!

They are a bit big in all honesty. But its better overall than those really skinny and jointed arms. If you could thicken the neck as well, the arms probably wouldn't read as quite so large relative to the body.

I just did the h/c Vas arm sleeve treatment, thanks to WG! They seem ever so slightly slimmer, maybe shruck 1/16 " or so and again, slightly more defined. All I needed to get her looking better. I am re-wrapping the ht arms again, removed padding, simply wrapping adhesive tape strips around her arms above and below her elbows...

The arms are probably a tad thick, but as you say, now it's her pencil neck that really makes them look bigger. From certain angles they look just right. And she DID have some pretty hefty wings, after all. Too bad her neck's also rubber and is continuous with her upper body, instead of being a separate piece... ya think there's any way to make a NECK sleeve for her?

Not sure, it came as an extra with something else I ordered a long time ago. But those green tanks are everywhere - War Toys, Monkey Depot, etc.

Glad the Hot+Cold trick worked. Its a slight difference but noticeable I think. Every little bit helps. I'll have to try the tape padding myself... I still have a problem with where the joints are on the HT arms as opposed to where they are on the sleeves.

When you're done, will you post some pics with her arms bent so we can see how it looks with the padding?

The "slim" neck really shows up in that pic with just the tank. Once the shirt and harness are on, you'll never see the neck. check out the pics I posted with arms and fully dressed on the previous page.

I am SO pic'ed out, but yes... if you want... just got my Hurricane T 800 "Police Station" light up eye conversion head in so need to attend to that first, but I'll get some up. Btw, Your Vas tank really makes a difference for alternate posing, she looked SO badass in it AND spent her final heroic moments looking like that as you know

I DO like this look but, besides the neck issue, its seems ashamed to pose her like this and NOT use the BDU shirt, harness and smartgun. Maybe for those of you who have a second Vasquez.

I think simply wrapping or taping the HT arms to thicken them a bit will solve this, there is just a little too much open space between the sleeves and arms... seems like an easy fix.

Didn't I already take these pics for you Reiny? Her neck looks fine as you can see.

Pjam and Wor-Gar, you guys' Vasquez look great!! I'm looking for a Vas and I might just have to ask you gentlemen for some of you expertise to make her look like yours!

I sent my Hicks to Josh for repainting, FML's was very nice, but I was floored by Josh's work on Hicks, he is even going to do the full weathering of the uniform. He's going to repaint his own Ripley and once he's done with that, hopefully mine will be next. I can't wait for my Hicks and to see his repainted Ripley!

Those Vasquez's look really cool with better arms.
I am not loving the weird elbows, and may shift mine, as per suggested, first.
But, all in all, MUCH more the character!

BTW, here's a shot of a repainted Drake...

I don't personally own a Drake, so I can't see him clothed until the owner dons him up. But, I am more tempted now...he is decent likeness. Better than that Stoner/Hicks/Hudson/thing!

Anyway, more shots in my custom thread.
And more to come if I ever get that arm thing done with Vas! Repaint of mine is fo sho! Now, she can be darker like she's supposed to be!
