Well Les, as far as I know, DVD Capture is only for the Mac but I'm sure you can find some vanilla derivative on the Windows side of the pond. And yes, it's as simple as a single click. Capture software has come a long way in the last 5 years or so since CSS encryption has pretty much been rendered useless. I'm just waiting for someone to crack the HD and Blue Ray content management structure, or at the very least find a way to circumvent it [holds 'ESC' key].

I just did a quick search for PC DVD screen grabs and couldn't find any freeware stuff... in fact its a bit confusing. Got a lot of basic screen grab freeware -- basically the same as using your PrintScreen key with some flashy extras -- but finding a program that can actually grab images from WMP or NvDVD (which I use) is impossible unless I want to pay for it. Pay? Ha! They keep changing things so often I don't want to buy a program that will be useless in 2 weeks. Oh well, I guess I'll rely on you guys for my screen grabs for now.

But when I look at the screen grab programs for $39.99 all I see is my next SW or Aliens purchase instead.

It's still a long wait, but I have confirmation. Awesome.

Here's my wish list for the Alien franchise:

Alien
- Ripley with flamethrower. They could sculpt her with her hair all up, like she wore it towards the end f the movie to make it easier.
- Dallas with extras for the medlab scene (surgical coatwhatchamacallit and mask)
- Ash also with extra accesories for the medlab and chestburster
- Parker with net
- Brett with cattle prod
- Lambert with motion tracker
- Kane with egg and face hugger
- Alien! In all its gigeresque glory! If I were to design it, I'd probably take my queues from the Cinemaquette statue, it's the closest I've seen design wise to Giger's sculpt. Taking into account its design, it could be more articulated than the AvP warrior, it's easier to hide joints.

- Burke with facehugger

Yeah, my lisy was mostly wishful thinking, but I do hope we get to see the aliens in all their different incarnations.
I also hope HT goes the extra mile when designing the aliens, there's a lot of posibilities for good articulation with all the stuff the aliens have "sculpted" on, especially the first two types, the AvP, A:R and Alien 3 designs are more limited because they're "fleshier".
DD, do you have any more insider info you might want to share?

I HATED the Newborn from Alien Resurrection!

I'll be interested in seeing the "new" HT Alien too, but I probably won't buy it. I'm still kind of disappointed about the so-called "Aliens" announcement.

You think so? Even though the preview had no "net" markings on the head?

I think it might just be a standard AR alien with dog legs and brown coloration. But if it is an AVP alien, yeah I hope its the grid guy -- he's the one distinctive alien I remember.

You might be right Wor-Gar. That preview pic did not show any markings and it looked like the Alien 3 or Resurrection warrior but then again, they also said it was the Aliens warrior and couldn't get that right so who knows. Grid might be too popular of a marketable character to release as a limited version but I just know if I was going to buy an alien from AVP I would go for Grid, but then again, I'm not buying any Aliens from AVP, I'm holding out for Aliens or Alien!

On SST's site there's a pic of the exclusive, it's a 3/4 body shot.
No Grid, unfortunately.
The arms are the same as the AvP alien, but the legs are not visible, so it's still debatable whether it's AvP or A:R.
But I wouldn't bet on the A:R, I'm sure HT will release one eventually, just not as an exclusive...

It looks like my first guess, they are making a makeshift Alien Res Warrior out of the AVP guy. I just hope the legs are AR correct....

I really doubt they would make an A:R warrior an exclusive for the U.S. market...
Besides, I do believe the SST rep who posted here did say it was just a repaint with some cool accesory.
For it to be screen accurate they'd have to change the arms and tail as well as the legs.
