As far as I'm aware most, if not all, of those products use abrasives so would eventually remove the lacquer rather than the scuff.Did you try with car products ? Like paint scratch remover ?

The dome should have come with a sheet of padded foam covering it to protect it from scuffs and scratches. Mine came that way. I guess that wasn't placed on yours when it was packed.
