That's a great setup! Very nice :)

Thanks. The tendon that broke on the side visible in that photo was pretty clean against one that runs kinda perpendicular, so it's not really noticeable unless you knew it was supposed to be there. I could also probably get out the super glue and fix the other side that I actually have the broken piece for without much issue.

Weekday delivery only with Fed-Ex Economy. They deliver up to 6pm.
Does your tracking say 'On vehicle for delivery'?

Thanks for the info, mate. Now I don't have to waste an entire Saturday waiting in for it. Although I didn't realise that they delivered up till 6pm so there's still 40mins left for it to arrive.

I'll just check the tracking.

That awful FedEx site won't track my delivery. Whenever I input the tracking number from my Sideshow order page, & the other needed details, I get this message...

Not found

This tracking number cannot be found, please check the number or contact the sender
.

Which is very annoying. I'm definitely typing in the correct number, hell I even copied & pasted it just to be sure, so I've no idea what I'm supposed to be doing wrong here. :huh

Well, after trying over & over doing the same bloody thing it finally tracked it. Last update was yesterday at 3:32pm & it says In transit & the location is listed as INDIANAPOLIS, IN.

Guess the delivery is nowhere near as far along as I thought, or rather hoped. :(

What's your Estimated Delivery?

When hell freezes over it seems.. ;)

Python, hopefully yours turns out alright. I know you've been anxiously anticipating this piece too. Maybe the fact that yours hasn't shipped yet is a good thing. Since they are sending these out in small waves maybe they realized most of the first batch has issues and are trying to remedy that for subsequent shipments. Just a thought. I have no idea how their process actually works.

Thanks, your last pictures look great. I think it is simply a case of not getting around to shipping them all for whatever reason.

Just got this reply from SS:

"Thank you so much for your email. Please know that I have set you up with an RMA for a full replacement for your <>. Please know that you will be getting an shipping label with your RMA. Please fallow all instructions so that we may get your replacement out right away.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you so much and have a super day!"

Hopefully this goes well...

Who's being defensive? :dunno
You are. You had the same passive-aggressive response to my post in the P2 bio thread, when all I said was "Sideshow's AvP bios all had warping issues".

You're all pissy about sideshow's QC and want to run away.. :panic:

Funny thing is you're trying to "open our eyes".. You think we don't already know all of this? We'll just add you to the list of folks who have posted the exact same diatribe as you...

All I can say in regards to what you're saying is.... Don't let the door hit ya in the dumper! :wave
Christ. Now you've gone from being defensive to flat out insulting. :dunno

Seriously, what are you gaining from this? If you agree with him then why are you attacking him?

Obviously this and some other pieces have quite a few reported issues, everything Sideshow produces?... No.
Recently Hell Boy, Red Skull, Capt. and Red Sonja (despite some skin tone complaints) have all turned out pretty awesome.

If alot of the damage is caused during transit, broken tendons, then that isn't really a Q.C issue.
Scratches & chips are unacceptable but no reason to trash everything SS produce.
At least give them chance to resolve any issues :D

Calm down man.... Remember it's sideshow's QC you're mad at.... :wink1:

Just opened mine up and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it! :love:love:love

It's a stunning piece. I scanned over it quickly when first opened and saw that the dome was okay, then I checked the tendons and they were fine too. There MAY be a small piece missing halfway through the upper tendon to the top of the mouth, but it's not really noticeable unless you're inspecting up close or know it's supposed to connect further -- which I don't, so it may be all good. It's definitely not a worry.

I quickly scanned the dome around the connecting area and some parts look like it may not be snapped down 100%, like the pictures shown earlier, but that may just be how it is. I didn't give it a thorough lookover on that front, but I mean, it's holding together, and it's not something that's noticeable at all from anywhere but bending down and looking under the rim -- which isn't how most will view it :lol Again, that was just a quick check, and I only noticed it because when I was brushing off the Styrofoam fluff a piece wedged in and I had to brush it out. So I'd just brush away from that when you guys are doing it, over alongside it.

The dome looks phenomenal. It's translucent enough that you can see the skull and most of the detail work under it perfectly -- and yet it's cloudy enough (I know there's a better word for it than cloudy) so that from far away it looks like the pure dome. That's fantastic, because I never was a big fan of those who make Big Chap with a completely clear dome where you can see a pitch white human skull underneath it.

There may be a minor scuff under the dome on one side (the side I'm not displaying him on) but you have to walk up really close and kinda look for it to notice it. The regular eye wouldn't notice it and even a collector's eye wouldn't notice it unless they went deep in and inspecting. And while it's great to do a thorough check of these pieces, I think many go by the rule that if it looks good from a few feet away, that's really all that matters. Maybe I'm wrong? :lol From a few feet away, this piece is stunning!

Now the size. The size is SO GOOD! It's bigger than the Warrior, and I know mentioned above that they can't be displayed together, but that's not true. Big Chap is bigger than a Warrior, and it looks it here! They look great side by side, even though I'm not sure that'll be my final placement (as I'm fixing an area to place things.) It's such a great size though! That really makes the price point more reasonable, as it's a hefty piece that looks it!

So most of this was going over it pretty quickly, but also well enough that any huge errors likely would've been noticeable (I hope :lol) and I couldn't be happier. This is definitely a grail piece for me, as I've wanted some Alien LSBs for longer than I've been collecting (I knew about the 1:1 before I was able to get into things, and said, "Man it'd be great to get one of those some day!") So I'm thrilled with these.

I still wish they'd give us less heart attacks and stress by upping the QC in their factories, but after a few blemishes on my Warrior, I'm thrilled that Big Chap came more or less as great as I could've hoped for.

:yess:

Golden_Boy I feel pretty much the same. I'm halfway on the fence about returning mine despite the tendon issues. The others aren't noticeable from a few feet away. I kinda hate to loose a decently low EX (#54) as well. I replied to SS asking what the guarantee was of getting a replacement EX vs them just replacing it with a regular. If thats the case then I'm just gonna keep this and request a possible partial refund.

As I understand it, they have unnumbered replacement pieces so you will get the same Edition Number you returned.

I'm in wierzbowski's camp, and I haven't even gotten my Big Chap yet (should arrive Wednesday). Broken tendons and scuffed domes do suck, but I'm unconcerned about those relative to my other recent SS purchase.

After months of anticipation, my Obi-Wan Mythos arrived this week, didn't have any visible defects or chips, and....

When I went to put the pegged foot into the base, it just wouldn't go. Not a shipping issue. Not a minor little thing. The whole ******* statue won't go into the ******* base, because the hole for the peg was drilled in the wrong place and the "footprint" is also too small for the foot to go in. I contacted SS immediately and after a few days received the boiler plate response that they'd let me return it or give me a $40 credit towards my next purchase.

Planning on calling them to ask, "What next purchase?" Then taking a Dremel to sand away the excess material and hopefully have something I can actually stand upright.

That is true. Not only are you dealing with qc SS end, you then have the wonderful people of Parcelforce, Fed Ex ... "handling" your parcel. Parcelforce smashed one of my recent statues up and even better is that they will never pay out for damage, even with insurance!

I may try and grab one of these from evil bay later down the line. Really loving that dome.
