It reminds me of the old PC game. Playing as an Alien for too long would make my head spin and make me nauseous. After a long stint I'd have nightmares that seemed to go on for hours where I was spinning over and over through corridors.

As a kid, I have always imagined it to be a large scale war if it takes place on Earth. Oh well guess not since this is placed even before the events of the first Aliens. I would have preferred if this is after Alien 3, less possibility of plot holes imo.

Given its timeline, I'm curious how would they keep it consistent with the other movies..

They're probably afraid to make anything set after Aliens because they don't know whether to acknowledge Alien 3 and beyond as canon. So instead they keep going the prequel and ''betweenquel'' route.
