I still have a soft spot for the Aliens design, just with how much I worshipped that movie as a kid, but yeah there's no beating the original.

Same. I used to prefer it but as an adult came around to the original which is far more unsettling. Overall the first two are great and the designs degrade fast after that, for me anyway.
