i will never understand why you guys like a crouched up pose like that second pic. It just doesnt go well with any piece and you dont really get your moneys worth with such a pose imo. If your gonna pay $800 for a statue, you want it to be good bang for your buck. This would be a lot more horrible if you had to pay $800 for a statue thats rolled up in a ball.

As far as screen accuracy, unless the sculptor is using molds or laser scans, its going to be very difficult to be anywhere near 100% screen accurate and considering the movie would have been crap if you actually saw that creature in full blown light, some artist interpretation has to be taken.

Except Giger's Alien..
This pose is just horrible... Nothing like the Big Chap. Any other pose would have been okay.

It's just not "Alien".

I'd post some pics but Sideshow has ____ed up their pictures now and I can't save them anymore. WTF do that? I like saving the pics of my pre orders and looking at them - even if their photography is crap.

Thanks very much mate, I learnt 2 things today! 1 you are damn fast! And 2 I can still get the photos if I look at the SS webpage as source.
I'm using Chrome, can you save the pictures with another browser or are all the pics locked out now?

the pose is good, its just that thats the way the alien was in the first movie. look at all the movie screen shots, he stands straight up and looks goofy as hell. I think this is a great statue for alien fans. Im not getting one though.

I don't use Chrome, but in regular Internet Explorer, instead of clicking on the pic, just right click it and "open link in new tab". Then you can "save pic as".

He does look like he's about to say Ahhh Choooo! or say "Slowly I turned"

Thanks for the help mate, but none of those work for me in Chrome. I still have IE installed I will use it to get my pix from now on. Cheers :duff

so when some of you say this isn't "alien" due to the pose, do you mean because he didn't make that specific pose in the movie, or because that pose is somehow out of character for him. I just don't get the "it's not alien" remark

Because it's a Legosi Dracula pose... all it needs is a cape and say...

"Look into my eyes."

BTW, what I meant by a Lambert Kill Walk pose was a ref to the haunting Slo-Mo sequence...

they were going for something that said 'classic movie monster' I think. I think it works. I like the museum pose aspect and doing something like this gives it a sinister look without needing to go with something too static and plain or too action figure-like.

It looks like something I could put in my living room as a classy piece of art rather than something that should be relegated to the collectibles room, like would be the case with an all out action pose.

Pressuming the arms are removable for packaging, a simple mod to move the arm back like this makes all the difference for me. Consider it ordered. Especially since I have the Aliens Warrior, and the 1/4 Queen Adolfo posted above.

A little Photoshop magic for y'all.

To be honest, I'm just not that big a fan of the sculpt. Even the head looks a little McFarlane-esque. Wish they would've taken a bigger hint from Marmit's statue (or that recent 1/3 bust). It just doesn't scream 'definitive Alien' to me.
