Can't wait till this comes out. To be honest, this will be the first Alien/Predator movie I'll have seen in a movie theater, so I hope it's good!

That would be great...the fact AVP was a 15 ruined it...at least I got to go and see it though...

And I'll be able to see this if it is an 18...because I'll be 18 shortly before it comes out over here...

They stated long ago it would be an R film and go back to the roots of both series, like bloody, cut up bodies hanging from the Predator unlike AVP where they were clothed and you couldn't even see the kill wounds.

did anyone ever see the making of the original predator. before they actually had the final design for what we know now as the predator that jean claude van dam was the original predator . then that got scrapped for what we now have has the predator. he was going to be like a bug or something.

I recently saw the orignal concept drawing for the Predator (cant remember where, might have been on SSF actually) and it looked terrible . . . looked alot like the final manifestation of the creature in The Fly . . just an upright insect

What the heck was that thing that hit Blaine in the shoulder before he was killed? It sure didn't look like the Predator's plasma cannon. What was it?

"The original concept for the Predator was a shape-shifting monster who carried a spear gun. This concept was found too difficult to film, so it was scrapped. However, a good bit of the footage was filmed with this concept in mind, and was kept even after the creature design was changed into the version seen in the movie. The shot of Blaine being hit in the shoulder was a leftover shot and shows the original weapon being used...if you watch the DVD and slow it down, you can clearly see the blade-like weapon slicing through the top of his shoulder."


I found this after I googled "Predator original concept".I guess that answers my question that I had posted some time ago,and had a little conversation with MaulFan on this board about.The question was,what was that
slimy sh%# that the Predator threw on Blaine before he blew a whole in him?

Those trailers are much better with less spoilerage then the other ones... I wish these were the ones I'd seen, I feel like the other ones spoiled much of the movie...

The first 2 are of the actual production maquette design (played in suit by Van Damme) before the re-design by Winston.
The others are re-design concept art. You can see the progression from "Space monster" look to the more "Masai warrior" look settled on by Winston's team.
