You cant really get a better Alien Big Chap in that size for that kinda money. Its bigger and will last longer then the HT version, not to mention its much cheaper.

For some its high-end or nothing but yeah as a collector of both HT and NECA - I just find the NECA Alien more satisfying. - only thing I worry about is the dome cracking after a fall or something falling in top of it.
If those people think "high end or nothing" then as long as they can afford it then more power to them. Others still like figures but cannot buy a lot of HT or SS so we gotta satisfy craving using NECA.
Your right about the dome though, I have mine standing on the floor to be secure!

Do people on here dislike ADI who did the effects for Alien 3 onwards?
Most of the people on the AvP galaxy forum hate them and do not like the alien design from A:R and AvP flicks.
Even though A:R sucks, I still love the SS A:R statue.

Love the Dog Alien but I'm definitely not a fan of the A:R warrior or the AvP ones. Unnecessary redesigns IMO - particularly the slug-shaped heads. Bring back the _____-heads!

ADI has made some good decisions, and some just plain stupid ones.
For example..WHY do they feel the need to take every bit of mechanical out of the biomechanical aliens? That's probably what I hate the most. Dog Alien is my favorite Alien design (followed by Giger's original), but I just wish it had that biomechanical feeling. If they would have painted the more metal-like parts of the costume a bronze/copper rusty color..that would have been awesome.
But, I think the Doggy is the best Alien they've made followed by the Predalien. Yep, the Predalien design made no sense..but it was just insanely cool.
I never understood what they were thinking when they made Scar's face. Why does he have human eyes? Why do his mandibles stretch to his eyes? The overall sculpt just doesn't look very appealing either. It really looks like a cheap fan-made P1.

The main reason people bash Wolf's design is because the movie was bad, the character in the movie was an idiot, and they're not strong enough to separate the design from the movie.
Also, some people say that his design just had too much going on..I kinda agree, but I think the face was fine. I thought the power glove crap was pretty stupid, but other than that I can accept him. He was a Cleaner afterall and needed the doubled and enhanced gear.
His head ridge things were spikey instead of rounded like the previous Predators, he had acid burns on his face, extra mandible teeth..I don't think having all that is pushing it.

I like Scar too. It's good that we now have a wide range of Predator characters across the franchise. I feel that with Scar and Wolf though, the minute someone says they like them you get a sarcastic comment or negative comment posted about the character. Whereas if people say they like P2 over P1, that's more accepted and not criticised or put down. The words Scar and Wolf automatically trigger a hate in people and they feel that no-one is allowed to like something that they don't.
I dont mind people loving them but I for one dont like them even though I think AvP is better then A:R.

Change can be good if done right but AvP Aliens and Preds are bad choices. Cameron who made the Queen was a awesome design choice, Dog Alien again awesome change. Berserker and Tracker are also good changes.

I just found out my $70 pre painted and built Alien Queen is a recast kit and not the original Halcyon kit. Already gave feedback on ebay for it so I just sent a message to the seller saying you stated its the Halcyon queen when it is not so asked for a partial refund.

..Can you not get a FULL refund? Open a case, eBay will almost always favor the buyer.
Yeah my feedback might mean I will find it hard to win PayPal case.

Doubt it, can't you just tell them that you didn't learn it was a recast until after the feedback was submitted?
From my experience, it doesn't matter what the seller says..if YOU are unhappy as the buyer, you can get practically anything you want.
What would be a good price for a recast?
I will open a dispute if seller does not comply. I think the recast sells for between £20 unbuilt and not painted. EBay us seller is selling it for $30. I do like it as its the only queen that size available for under $100. But I think $70 is too much for re cast even though its built.

If you're satisfied with the quality of the recast, then maybe a partial refund should suffice. Considering if he did indeed try to pass it off as a real Halcyon model kit. (Meaning he lied about the description).
