I love the Predators design but they are portrayed as such sissies in the movies--- making themselves invisible to hunt the weaker humans then having back-up nukes in case they lose. Not the actions of a bad-ass race in my book.
Without going through all the back pages here, I'd love to think these are all from some wussy hillbilly clan and that there are more honorable ones out there somewhere (laugh).
Question, I read the first Aliens Vs Pred mini when it came out, and know Machicko (sp?) ended up running with a Predator clan in the novels.
As a human learning about them by being with them, how were they portrayed? Did they go out hunting sentient races? Why did she stay with them? Were the books worth reading at all?

If the T-1000 completed its mission of killing John Connor, what would it do after that? It can't go forward in time and it would no longer have a purpose. Would it get a job doing Capri Sun commercials?

Maybe it had secondary missions programmed to aid in the creation of sky-net or something. Or then went after Connors second in command and generals etc., like the TX did in T3.

I've always thought that! This idea of them being honourable arose from a couple of scenes in Predator 2 where it didn't kill a woman because she was pregnant and also it didn't kill a child with a toy gun. Thats all well and good but the whole semi-nuclear explosion thing when they think they are defeated smacks of a real sore loser. And don't tell me its to destroy their technology because A) you wouldn't need an explosion that big and B) if they're worried about their tech falling into the wrong hands why don't we see them making every effort to retrieve stuff they leave behind?
The P1 Predator is believed on here to be the ultimate badass second only to Private William Hudson! Yet most of his hunts involved sniping with his shoulder cannon while invisible! Whats that all about? At least a mere human out hunting for deer and such has his marksmanship tested...not that I condone their sport.
Predators hunting human is just like humans hunting deer though. Have you seen some of the rifles and scopes hunters have now, they may as well buy the meat, its as good as dead anyway. If deers start carrying grenade launchers and learn survival tactics, humans may need to get some plasma cannons.
Really? So pretty much the only reason they hunt is to test out their cool new guns. Theres increasingly little skill actually involved? That pretty much sounds like what we're talking about with the P1 Predator alright.
At least the P2 pred diversified himself with projectile weapons and his spear for close encounters!

Well so far both P1 and P2 has faced their final combatants without stealth (not really by choice though). But I guess it does give them an advantage when they're facing bigger and heavily armed groups. Remember that they're still hunters, and not really warriors. They have some honor, but I can't blame them for using everything they got to capture the trophies they want.
At least P1 activated the self destruct after he was completely and utterly defeated and literally on the brink of death. P2 was just hanging on the edge of a building with a high chance of survival and an incomplete hunt. Yet he was just gonna Kamikaze himself along with his main opponent in the middle of a city. That's pretty douchbaggish IMO.

P1 only hit the self destruct cuz he knew he just got owned by Arnold's primative trap. He also had the puntured lungs and broken ribs by that time too due to him coughing up blood. Plus he didnt wanna go out by getting busted in the face by a rock lol!And I agree that the P2 just pussed out by going for the self-destruct way too fast.
He then ran away for a bit, tried to net gun harrigan while invisible, but still got owned. He was relishing too much while standing over harrigan, cracking his knuckles and such. Lastly I love the Elder Pred in P2 and I wished they do a movie with him using only the sword that he has to hunt. No mask, no wrist blades. That would rock!!!
It would be great to see predators hunting in different time periods. Obviously the technology handicap would need to be different if they were hunting knights or gladiators but it could lead to some epic battles with more primitive weapons.

But when they fought off the whole crew, the captain was mortally wounded and he gave the young Predator his priced pistol and his final words were:"take it." I would love to see that live. Best part is that the Predator lives at the end. Doesn't get better than that!

the only reason why i feel the need to get a jack sparrow fig...to re-live that moment with my P2 elder.
i'd also like to see them preds on a primitive setting. hunting vikings, or perhaps during the samurai era.
