Not really modern, more of a realistic approach. As this thing looks more like an actual Camaro.



They weren't. Ace approached Hasbro and had talks, but apparently was told that Hasbro doesn't deal with infringers.
Funny, as 3rd party, correctly spoken, doesn't infringe on anything to begin with.

They had talks, but Hasbro chose Loyal Subjects therefore Ramen was skipped over. I don't see what need to be corrected there.
I Don't see how it wouldn't infringe on the license. That said, Ace wants to release another run on the Gullwing and the Great White is still available. It seems that Ace will concentrate on 1:12 scale vehicles from here on out, next big one should be that Technical I asked him about.

I was looking forward to the M.A.S.K. reveal but was hoping they would bring it up into the 1/12 scale. Since they are not, well...got to think about it now.

This is some good news, not that I need a new line to collect but Mask is one of the few toy lines from childhood I kept. Most are all battered and bruised from hours of keeping my imagination occupied as a kid though. Hope Thunderhawk goes up first, never did find that one as a kid.

I’m in. That’s nostalgia perfection right there. I had been tinkering with the idea of gathering some originals and restoring them as best I could since NIB M.A.S.K. is out of the question due to prices. Now I can gather most everything I had as a kid, with retro packing, with upgraded features and at the original scale to have room to display them and at a relatively affordable price.

And if Ramen continues with their scaled up, “realistic” versions then I’ll cherry pick the ones I want from them as well.

Weird scale. They remind me of the early Spinmaster DC 3.75" figures. The figures have no elbow articulation it seems. Doesn't matter really as they rarely did anything outside the vehicles anyways.

I like the vehicles. They look great

I’m guessing exact copies of the 80s molds were used for the vehicles. This’ll be an interesting line.

Was this line brought back or knocked off in the late 90s? I remember going to Florida with my family, on vacation, and blowing what little cash I had on figures very similar to this at Toys R Us. Smaller scaled and looking transforming vehicles w/characters and weapons. Didn't look quite as vintage as these though.

Edit: Nevermind. Answered my own question. It was a knock-off series called Vor-Tech. Still pretty dang cool.

The figures have no elbow articulation it seems. Doesn't matter really as they rarely did anything outside the vehicles anyways.

This is significant for me. These are slight upgrades, but at the same scale and with more or less the same articulation (rotating shoulder joint is new, and the legs also seem to have a ball joint now) I'm not really feeling them. If they gave these guys O-ring Joe articulation I would probably pick up at least Brad Turner and the Condor.

Agreed. Limited articulation kills my interest. Like older McFarlane figures or the ReAction line from Super7. Every figure doesn't need to have Spider-Man levels of articulation but I'd still like to be able to put them in standard human poses.

Although better articulation on the figures would be cool, I never bought MASK because of the figures. It was all about the vehicles with me. The little guys are merely accessories to them and as long as they can look good in the driver’s seat I’m fine with it.

100%! This is exactly what I was hoping for from the line. All in, I say

I think overall, looking at the comparison, it's a great upgrade for the figures.
