An Evil Collector?
Forgive my ignorance, but with all of the faux bronze crap floating around lately I want to make sure. The Mindzeye Hellboy bronze appears to be bronze/metal but only a few bucks more. Does that seem right? I would think it would cost more to make.

It's cold-cast bronze - so not a real metal bronze - but more of a procedure they do to make it look bronze. If its a low price - you can pretty much bet it's not the real thing.
Metal Cold Casting
There are different techniques used to achieve a metallic finish with a urethane resin. "Cold-Casting" is a term used to describe the process of mixing urethane resin with a metal powder and pouring the mixture into a mold to obtain a casting that gives the appearance of solid metal. Different metal powders such as bronze, brass, aluminum, nickel-silver and copper can be used depending on the effect desired. The metal cold-cast process is faster and much less expensive when compared with foundry casting of molten metal (lost wax process).
So basically - it's a fake bronze.

I think I might just order that Midnight version, too cool, although the painted one is very nice. Or should I get both?
I would get both before they sell out.

The painted one is nice, but seems overpriced(I figured the bronze was a steal but not now). The midnight looks like the best value.

Really can't beat the price on the midnight version - ends up being $140 shipped. I personally really like the way it looks, more so than the other two.
The Midnight is indeed a great deal, if you are already planning on being in San Diego and have tickets purchased for the convention. Otherwise you really have to factor in the costs associated with the convention weekend too.
Having gone last year, it wasn't in the cards for me this year.

MindzEye Hellboy statues. even if they're not true bronze i think they're still pretty cool sculpts!

It's kind of ironic the piece with the lowest ES is by far the cheapest.
I wasn't really pleased with the price of the painted version. Wasn't expecting it to be more than $200. But I want a HB statue based on the comic and it looked to cool to pass up.
I'm hoping they'll make more characters from the comics in this line.

I really like the look of this one compared to Electric Tiki's. Their sculpts are close to the look of the comic, but their super glossy finish doesn't look good to me.

I think there is actually too much of a difference in the price. It makes the other 2 seem way overpriced to me anyway.
Ahh.. but what you don't realize is that the Midnight variant is made of pure evil. There is so much of it in the world now that it is dirt cheap.
Look at it. Pure concentrated evil. If I found that in a toaster oven, I would certainly not touch it!
