Most of my favorite official MPs are Decepticon repaints of Autobots. That is kinda a bummer. It's nice to see third parties picking up where Takara either doesn't want to go or isn't getting to anytime soon. I think having options is always nice.

Maybe it wasn't the best choice of words, but thanks all the same for responding without feeling the need to resort to the sort of snide remarks and potshots that others chose.

The bottom line is that the official MP line is no longer my cup of tea, I got several of my most wanted characters so it served it's purpose for the most part.

Now I'm finishing off my collection with 3rd party figures as I don't believe it's worth waiting around for official alternatives that may never even materialise.

Come on, for once I agree with you; Takara are definitely phoning it in. Playing it safe, nothing they announce or announced barring Magnus recently and maybe bumblebee has a wow factor coupled with questionable choices for their release schedule.
To me they're not listening to their fan base whilst the third party companies are and resultingly are banging out stellar releases. I've also found their bot designs completely lacklustre too. It's sad and very frustrating seeing them fumble the ball as they're doing. The flip side is however that all these third parties are picking it up and running with it.

You agree with me....are we in Bizarro World?

One thing we have to remember is what collectors in North America and Europe want is possibly different to what Takara's main market in Asia wants.

But with the better 3rd party options being so good, the need for the official line becomes a lot less whilst they continue to stay in their little bubble.

I will get ( among others ) Megatron, Snarl, Perceptor, Reflector, Bombshell and Warpath this year.

If I was only intrested in official figures my options would be limited to a couple of repaints, another MP10 reissue, a Japanese character I have no connection to and Tracks.

No contest.

Nice. While it may not appeal to everyone, much like the HT Optimus, I still am really impressed by it. Sounds like they sampled Peter Cullen's actual voice. I can only imagine how Optimus and Megatron will look displayed together. It would be cool if they could actually interact with each other with iconic lines from the animated movie.

I'm really looking forward to the video reviews for Apollyon. I'm hoping that we'll see them popping up towards the end of next week.

I digg it for the most part. The light up features,moving mouth and talking are excellent. I just didn't care for parts of his overall design like the legs looking huge making the upper body look really small and the shape of the forearms seem off. Also the neck post seems really thin. I will be picking up their Megatron though.

The anticipation is KILLING me.

Lol i hear you friend! There is so much right with this figure that its easy to overlook any flaws imo. Fingers crossed we can get a solid figure with minimal or no QC issues. Even then I doubt ill be transforming him into pistol mode but for a few times,which should limit the chance of me breaking something. Will be the perfect stand in until Takara moves their *****.

How cool would an ultimetal soundwave be!! Imagine the light up red eyes and G1 soundwave voice! im sure it'll happen eventually. That or devastator would be awesome!

They have yet to show a fully colored Megatron and they've announced that they are doing Ultra Magnus (full white Prime figure covered in armor, should be HUGE).

If this thing was a grand, I don't even what to know what they are planning on pricing something like Magnus. Megatron should be the same, I think.

Soundwave would be amazing, but something tells me they are going to do leaders only.
