I have to admit that Superion look pretty good there.

Both Superion and Defensor look quite good. It kinda sucks the only one so far I have much interest in (Menasor) is also probably the worst looking, at least to my eyes.

Here's Defensor with his mate Superion. I gotta say, he is so much better than Menasor! The Stunticon was just all wrong in terms of body proportions, but Defensor and Superion are pretty damn good!

While I KNOW that these are high quality than the Hasbro offerings (and bigger) I still think just in pure aestetics I think the Hasbro ones look SO MUCH better than the TFC dudes. Especially their Defensor.

Yeah TFC stuff is pretty pricey. I know some people like them but I'm not a fan of their aesthetic. They look far more like mass market toys than other third party products imo.

I think the Hasbro Defensor looks freaking awful.
The arms look ridiculous The helicopter one for example just massively oversized & WAY too long, looks like it would almost touch the ground if you straightened it out.

Hasbro Superion is passable at best but IMO they aren't close to what they could be.

In other news TFS-Express have sold out of Transbot Apollyon which helps me with my dilemma...I wont be getting one
Ordering from overseas will be too expensive with Customs etc. so I'll be Megatron less in my display now for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, I think the TFC figures are heads and shoulders better than the Hasbro ones, but I'm also not sure you get what you pay for, as they don't blow me away given all that we've seen since Hercules first debuted. On the other hand, Hasbro is making slow, steady improvements in their gestalt Transformers. Lest anyone forget what we got several years ago. . .

Here's my review of the final Protectobot with Hot Spot, and the combined Defensor. Definitely an improvement over Menasor, and looks great with Superion. Hope you can check out the review

Try to get a look at Menasor in-hand. I have him and it's one of those cases where a figure looks much different in pics, IMO. He's not a home-run, but he is WAY better than the pics I've seen. I'm very happy with him.

While that's true, I really don't think any third party attempt at the combiners fits with the MP's. I don't think that'll ever be possible tbh.

They are damn fine attempts, that's for sure.

I don't think they maintain the MP aesthetic. High quality, detailed, impressive on display? Sure, but they are missing that "it" factor that separates Takara from pretty much everyone else.

Takara should just release another line, some sort of "compact" MP line. And then they should give us a Devastator and the other combiners.

It's just impossible to make one that can hold MP 10 like this:

eh,slap on some repro autobot stickers and they look masterpiece to me....even Hercules stills stands out as a good MP

I mean,I highly doubt we will ever see a Takara MP Superion done in my lifetime.TFC has filled that spot quite nicely

This has got to be the finest Optimus Prime Collectible ever made. Totally a jaw dropping piece that needs to be seen (and felt) in person to be truly appreciated (and to see where 1K went). The box is almost as big as a flat screen 42" TV, see how tiny Star Saber's look next to it. The electronics, the sounds, the lights, the WEIGHT of this thing. The magnetic armor snaps like a dream and just stays there, like magic.

I don't regret getting this at all, in fact, I wish it would've been a bit more affordable so that more fans would experience such a masterpiece. As it is, yes, it's probably not for everyone. The price tag and the fact that it doesn't transform are a bit of a letdown for some (I would think Hasbro won't let anyone make a transforming OP figure TBH).

Is the price worth it? IMO, yes. There's 2K BAYFORMERS statues out there and people are buying them (would never understand why). This is the finest G1 OP ever made and I'm so glad I own it.

What a display piece.

Here's my review of the new Combiner Wars Cyclonus, a retool of the previous Silverbolt. Not too bad a figure, but nothing overly impressive. The Galvatronus mode still baffles me too as to what the backstory is on that one.
