I can't wait for these! Even though they are just repaints, they seem to be VERY G1 faithful...

I'm in love with the packaging :drool

From Seibertron.com:

"Pictures of two new, so far as yet unmentioned repaints have been posted by ACToys user Comus.

These repaints are of the recently released Optimus Prime and Megatron from the Classics Ultimate Battle two-pack. Both repaints are more faithful to their G1 selves, but that is not the only difference for these figures.

The packaging features black and white art of the characters on matte black boxes, more alike to the recently released Music Label Soundwave and Frenzy Rumble, than anything previously seen in the Classics/Universe line.
Silver text on the boxes indicate that these two figures are "Transformers Universe Special Edition 01" and "Transformers Universe Special Edition 02".

To add further intrigue, both boxes preview yet another character to be released in this "Special Edition" series, "SE-03 Dragstip (a repaint of Classics Mirage), and SE-04 Overkill (a repaint of Classics Grimlock), both in similar black and white character art.

I don't know. I have the versions of those two from the two-pack released in the US, and I thought they were pretty mediocre. Optimus Prime's truck mode in particular was unimpressive.

i hope thats not the best thing they are going to offer for the 25th! :monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

Yeah, repainting some of the worst Classics molds and putting them in new packaging isn't exactly pushing the boat out so here's hoping the other 25th Anniversary stuff kicks ass.

Overkill was one of G1 Soundwave's tapes. His alternate mode was a T-Rex-esque dinosaur. A repaint of Classics Grimlock in his color scheme is not that far of a stretch.

And I agree with some of the other guys here. The two worst toys from Classics V1 (Prime and Megs) repainted and repackaged in some pretty boxes does not entice me one bit.

But if these ARE your thing, they are Hasbro Toy Shop exclusives, apparently, and can be preordered now:

Prime

Megs

Overkill

that was done at the 2007 botcon customizing class... that's sad that this is the case with this release :(.

i like to think of the boxes as badass, not pretty. :lol
