The Ultra Magnus from Takara looks good also, but i really cant remember him looking like that,he was coloured Blue and Red,and a little white...
Thank you, that's what I've been saying!! It's not a good representation of Magnus, Takara just got lazy and decided to reuse the Prime mold and repaint it, plain and simple. I want a REAL Ultra Magnus!!

Are you serious? This Style of Ultra Magnus was never like this?No wonder i didnt remember anything about this type of Ultra Magnus, but they released this figure at Cost 100$,and goes high on ebay, why would they release a Figure that was never a part of transformers?

The MP Ultra Magnus is based on the Dreamwave comic book look.

When Optimus Prime then led a rebel attack on Iacon, Shockwave turned on Magnus, apparently deactivating him. Ultra Magnus survived, however, and his inner robot emerged from his damaged larger form, teaming with Prime to stop Shockwave's plan to use the Matrix to access Vector Sigma.

I still to this day think it's funny that Ultra Magnus got ripped apart in the movie, yet survived and was put back together. Optimus died from a few blows/gunshots!!

Never got the chance to read that... thanks.:D

I haven't been able to pick up or read much of the new stuff--- my Transformers history rests with the first 40+ issues of the G1 series (and the first 20+ of the British version).

Im pretty new to these Transformers toys,so i dont know which one to pick,i will buy the Takara MP-01 Optimus Prime, but what other figures do you recommend?I got the Small 3" titanium Die Cast figures with the new 2007 look.I want Bumblebee,Ironhide,Starscream,Megatron and Ultra Magnus, but what is the best ones out there in the bigger size, around 12" or so?I have seen the Voyager series, but what else do you recommend?

Rock, Masterpiece Megatron and Starscream are also MUST HAVES in my opinion, a lot of places are sold out of them, but you can still find Megatron on ebay and Walmart will be carrying a repaint of Starscream.

Here's some pics of mine...

I just ordered the MP-01 Optimus Prime, thanks to you guys,it was easy to decide.I saw that Megatron, but wasnt so impressed actually,he looks to skinny, specially the legs,or am i wrong here?

What about the 2007 Look on the Autobots, which figures looks good?Ive seen Optimus and it looks terrible in Autobot form, but excellent in Vehicle form, help me out here please,i want a few with the new look.

Actually, the Legs on Megatron are not bad, I was a little worried about that at first but the pistol grips give the a little more width.

As for new look TF toys...I would suggest the Classics line...

I have to wait for the Wal-Mart Starscream, because I can't help it... the original MP Starscream will always be more like Thundercracker to me because of the paint scheme.

I agree with Ill, if you're into the cheaper stuff go with the Classics line. They're a cool design with a nod to G1.

If you're going to go semi to big expensive, go with the Takara stuff (Masterpiece).

.... And as far as the Classics line goes, if you get tired of the ugly Megatron colors, you can always do a repaint such as this person did:

Thanks for the advices,i think Optimus prime MP-01 will be the only one im impressed with,im not a huge TF fan,but want a few and wanted to hear about the options.

Ill jedi,so you would really recommend Megatron MP?I watched the first episode of TF last night, havent seen the series since the 80s,and Megatron really didnt have that thin legs,is this figure so accurate to the tv series Megatron?

Not to butt in with the question to Ill, but the MP Megatron is the most accurate to G1 (toy wise), not the most cartoon accurate.

Take the floor Ill!...

The 1984 version of Optimus Prime had thin legs, they changed that with the 20th anniversary figure,it was much more accurate to the Tv series Prime, but maybe not in the same way.

You're absolutely correct, but as far as Megatron goes, he's got thinner legs than portrayed in the cartoon.

If you want a really cool cartoon accurate Megatron (although it doesn't transform) i'd suggest the Revoltech Megatron (there are plenty of pics in this thread). Best/coolest small-scale transformer imo.

For now it looks to be Optimus MP-01 only for me,ill consider the Megatron MP-05,but not getting it yet.

As I've stated before, the legs look good to me.

:D Jason, you are right, when compared to the original G1 Megatron, the Masterpiece blows it out of the water, you will never get a better representation of Megs in a Transforming toy than this.
