I think the thing with Darkmount is I don't really like his alt mode as I always think half tracks look like they chopped two other vehicles apart and stuck opposing bits together.

I do like his robot mode however and the stuff I've read about the interchangeable weapons sounds cool so I may give it a go at some point.

I did have a lot of Animated toys at one time but most were impulse buys as it was a rare case of being able to get TF's in stores and I went a bit crazy but I soon resold most of them as the QC in some cases was terrible and also because I needed cash for other stuff.

All I have left now are Leader Class Megatron, Voyager Prime, Deluxe Blurr and Activators Bumblebee but I might get Takara's Hot Rod and Activators Cliffjumper as well.

LOL !!! I know what you mean about the “half and half” vehicle mode. It’s not really the best and looks a bit odd to me too. However, just like Generations Perceptor, the bot mode is good enough to warrant a purchase for me. I keep 90% of my TF’s in bot mode anyway so I can live with it. I just hope the trend of making comic characters continue as I would LOVE an Impactor!!!!

I guess I have been really lucky with my Animated figs as I have no QC issues at all. Activators Cliffjumper is very cool with his p***ed off facial expression

Pick up a Bruticus as soon as possible dude! 'Colossus' just looks fantastic! Just look at this review from Vangelus.

I’ve got to admit I would really like to pick up the Bruticus set. Even though I don’t like the look of the individual bots, it’s not such an issue as he would stay in combined form anyway. “Colossus” does look awesome!!! The problem is the price it’s going for at the mo means I can’t justify it right now. In the last month or so I have Pre ordered MP Roddy, Fansproject Roddy, Hot Toys Mark VI Iron Man and just received my Sideshow Premium Format Gambit (never thought I would buy a statue, but I LOVE this). I still have a shortlist of about 10 Generation/United figs to pick up and X-mass is looming on the horizon………….. I think I need a second job !!!

So Valfar...is the quality there? I would love to have a Mirage and Wheeljack. Silent Bob you have THE best tastes when it comes to TFormers...I need to pick up that Takara version of Hot Rod. Thanks for the pics man!

I would definitely pay the extra to get the Takara Version if I were you. Like I said, my picture (and pretty much all the pictures I have seen on the net), make him look for more purple than he actually is in hand. In fact under artificial light when stood next to each other he makes Hasbro Roddy look kind of brown……… Seeing how well the shiny paint job came out is making me very tempted by Takara Shockwave. Then my Grey Hasbro one can become Long arm Prime in my display !!

Yeah, no wonder then that you can't go for it right now. But hopefully a chance will come by later down the line for you, and at least you're going to have some kickass stuff. The Mark VI alone is a must have, I still regret that I can't afford it.

Yep. The alt mode is fine and the poseability is good but the anorexic robot mode looks ridiculous and the tiny little head really kills it.

I've not read many of the comics since I was a kid but I like what I've seen of the IDW stuff ( mainly the Spotlights ) and would love to see Blurr with his Cybertronian alt mode and an Ultra Class Roadbuster as he's HUGE in the IDW art.

As they're significantly outnumbered on my shelf I'd also like more Classics styled Decepticons that,

A) Aren't Seekers

B) As crap as Octane, Astrotrain and Galvatron

Top of my list would be,

1.G1 colored Megatron as either a tank or helicopter gunship.
( Unless gun laws change he's not going to get a realistic looking gun mode again so the G2 or Animated alt modes would be suitable alternatives.)

2.Shockwave
( A new mold that's either based on his G1 alt mode or whatever form he takes in TF3.)

3.Scorponok
( Retool the Energon version to incorporate a Headmaster and give it a G1 color scheme. )

4.Galvatron
( New Voyager Class mold that's not a shambolic waste of plastic like the Universe Deluxe.)

5.Insecticons
( Big robot bugs possibly wouldn't work these days but smaller,Scout class ones would tie in with the insect thing in ROTF. A 3-pack of Bombshell, Shrapnel & Kickback would rock. )

Walmart has finally knocked down their deluxe prices from $ 11.99 back down to $ 9.00 so I picked up Darkmount/Straxus and WFC Megatron yesterday.

I got this through the post a couple of days back. Guess I ordered it when I was drunk as I didn't remember I had it coming
It's kind of a mixed bag to be honest......

Unfortunately the colour of the hands don't match the original Gen1 figure. The axe is a little lame too. A warning here in that the rocket pack doesnt fit on the 1984 Optimus I've heard it works for later issues but it's something to be aware of. It also opens to store all the extras.

The new gun is kinda cool, but I have given mine to my WFC Ops as I think he looks great with it.

The best thing about this set is obviously the Matrix, which works really well.

It even has a small hole in the back to let light through.

Now Gen 1 Oppy can "light your darkest hour"

All in all I am glad I got it. It was only $20 and the Matrix alone makes it worth it.

Meh, the g1 toy looks like crap to me, like most of them do. I mean just look at Ratchet and Ironhide...abysmal. And Megatrons...ya know...trigger wang. *even the word p3n1s is censored here wtf?
