For silver/metallic/robot areas on TF's i base in testors acrylic flat black, and then drybrush over with testors acrylic silver or aluminum they are both pretty good. The amount of times you coat in a drybrush over presents how much it looks like solid silver or like complicated machinery. for large areas that need to be silver like primes legs or his chrome "parts" of the truck i did heavier coats of silver to get more solid consistancy the black base just makes the silver set better.

For mechanical areas like the robot parts its lighter coat of silver so that the details stand out mroe with some black under the drybrushing.

Sweet repaints, did not know about the Jazz repaint.
Wonder if i can find it here.

Thanks a lot!!!!

Bagels, awesome pics!

And the new Robot Chicken is hilarious!!! My stomach is still hurting!

I think i'm finally done modding my leader prime. After doing the full repaints of his robotic and silver parts and giving him a ball neck. I've managed to finally work out a way to remove his extra forearm sections and the rear wheels while he's in bot mode to slim him down some. While they are essential in truck mode they aren't in bot mode. But with some reworking i can snap them back on him to put him in truck mode.

I also ended up making the energy sword, and to keep it removable its just got a little clear rubber band attached to it and it attaches to his fist which is good enough for me:

And a little Optimus/Brawl pic:

Im not a 100% satisfied with The Optimus Prime`s we have gotten with the 2007 look, but its the best ones out there at the moment, and im sure a MP of Prime will be made sooner or later,as there will be more TF movies to come.

Nicely done Custom of Prime btw, looks much better and more accurate,is it easy to place the Weels part back on if you want to transform it back to Vehicle?the part seems pretty solid.

The wheel sets attach via long flat arms that connect at the top back of the hips with a hinge. I simply notched a slot in the part of the arm that couples around the small bar there forming the hinge, so that it can be popped off and back on again.

Its the same process for the little extra forearm parts that fold down into the rear wheel sections. It wasn't easy but it was doable and made a reasonable solution to the kibble.

Is the leader class Brawl worth getting?

It looks pretty good, how is the articulation and transformation?

I got the Leader Brawl today,no complaints here, easy to transform, but i had a hard time placing the Weels right, the left side didnt fit right, the arm was in the way,but couldnt push it more in either, kind of annoying.

But its worth getting, has alot of sounds,i believe it has 5 sounds, while Prime Leader has only 2.

Awesome custom Mag!!! Can you post some pics of what you did to the hips and arms... I'm having a put of trouble understanding from your description, and I'd like to do it as well!

Also, did you paint the blue sections, and if so, with what paint?

Thanks man.

I didnt do any paintwork to the "color" areas of him as i didnt want to mess with them, they are perfectly good standard so i didnt feel the need to touch them plus i didnt want to mess up the flame job.

Here's some close ups of the removable bits and some explination after:
primemodsclose1.jpg

These are the arms that connect the rear wheels to the legs, these fold up and snap into the bakc of the leg normally but the wheels get in the way of poseability. By cutting a slot in the hinge that connects around the metal pin on the leg i can now remove these at that point. Note i cut the slot in that spot specifically so that when in truck mode the slot is aimed down, the arms generally pull tight in truck mode but this way they wont "fall" off since they must go up to come off in that mode.

primemodsclose2.jpg

These are the flat fold up sections on the forearms that fold down into the rear wheel section in truck mode, they are nessecary to lock the transformation together in truck mode, but add unwanted girth to his forearms which are already boxy as crap. I did much the same thing i did with the leg struts here, although it required alot more effort and more time being careful as to not crack or break the plastic. This plastic is morebrittle ABS type plastics not the softer PVC of the wheel arms. Also the "pipe" in the back of the arm where this fold up section connects is hollow plastic and can be broken if you pull to hard on it, there is a screw setup on the arms that would allow you to remove this fold up piece without cutting it but it requires dissassembling the arms almost entirely below the elbow. This way i can snap the extra part on and off at my leisure.

Hope that helps.

As for brawl hes worth getting, the best decpticon, and frankly makes you wish they made all the big decepticons in leader scale the way they are supposed to be. Though i expereinced the same problem with the left tread not wanting to snap into the tank side correctly cause of the arm, i dont know why it does it i can't find the part that is causing it cause the right one goes on fine, friend of mine who has him says he has no problem so i dont know what the deal is.

Its annoying isnt it?And you had problem with the left side as well as me,there isnt any explaination except that the Arm is supposed to be pushed more in,but its not possible,at least not my Brawl.

thanks for the pics and description Magnuz. that helps a lot! I'm definitely going to try this.

how did you do the ball-jointed neck?

I just got the concept bumblebee fig yesterday and the thing is awesome!!!
