Damn, I want that MP Prime. I got the 1st release with the trailer, hope he will stay instock for a long long time.

yea same here. I want MP-10 but I don't know what I'd do with my other MP Optimus. Plus this MP-10 Optimus will be shorter than MP Megatron from what it seems which is also holding me back

making matters worse, Takara has ALREADY said there are no plans to revisit megatron in the Masterpiece line any time soon.

Not a problem. iGear are likely to release Horror Monarch at some point,

It may be a bit small to go with the new MP Prime but I've got Faith Leader so I'll be good to go :)

On the Hercules size debate: Hopefully this rough comparison helps. Colosus is about 11.5 or 12 inches, if I remember right.

EDIT: Btw, I hope they scrap that Horror Monarch and instead make a more accurate, non transforming Megatron. Honestly, I'd prefer that over a smaller version of a toy that almost nobody transforms and is an overly complex and surprisingly under articulated POS.

Would make it less of a POS knock off as well.

I'd actually prefer that as well as bulkier legs would look a lot better and also make it less fragile. A small version of his gun mode as an accessory would be fine.

But if iGear go ahead with Horror Monarch and the balance issues caused by the oversized fusion cannon are eradicated I'll give it a go as I currently only own the Animated Leader Class Megatron.

Seems like all they would have to do is stick a couple relatively heavy pieces of metal in the bottoms of his legs for the balance issue. . .

Personally, I don't care for TFs that don't transform, so I wouldn't be all that interested in the Megs you guys are talking about. MP Megatron doesn't look perfectly toon accurate, but he's still the best looking Megatron toy out there. And the toon head that came with Faith Leader is gonna give you some nice display options.

One of the things I would most look forward to is no "space rust" on his feet, though. It kills me that a major toy company like Takara would ____ up using that kind of metal on a mass released product.

I think that's most likely what's been holding megatron up. I'm expecting, what with the new direction igear has been going, to see a totaly new design for megatron.

I know you don't care for non-tfing transformers, but, as far as BEST looking megs toy goes,

Revoltech megatron would like a word with you.

Face is weird. Fusion cannon is the wrong shape. Proportions seem hyper stylized beyond the cartoon even, and I'm probably a bit biased by those ridiculously flamboyant poses.

Totally with K on both points.

I don't care that MP Megs isn't completely toon accurate. I actually like a bit of a balance between the original toy and the cartoon model. Having it look 100% like the cartoon would make it seem to simplistic, anyway.

I never ended up opening my MP Megs so I can't speak for the "rust" and balance issues, but it looks almost perfect to me other than the scale. Only thing I might change would be the face sculpt, maybe. Just seems a bit bland to me.

Some thicker legs might look good too, but I imagine there must be SOME way to do it and still have a transforming toy.

And yeah, that Revoltech figure looks weird to me, too.

A direct copy of the Revoltech design in a larger scale would probably look horrible.

I think the basic principle of a non transforming, G1 style Megatron that blends elements of the animation model, the toy and various comic art especially recent IDW series is sound enough and if you look at what they've done with the designs for Ironhide, Ratchet & their Minibots then I think such a Megatron is well within iGear's capability.

Horror Monarch was originally meant to be out earlier this year but there has to be a reason for the delay and the possibility of a rethink is plausible enough now iGear are changing direction.

If Has/Tak won't make one to go with the new MP Prime that creates a gap in the market although I imagine iGear's priority is to make one that's scaled to Faith Leader.

I don't care for the look of that Revoltech, honestly.

Neither do i he looks very odd.

Although MP Megatron is flawed, seeing him stand tall and proud in the middle of anyone's Decepticon collection is a sight to behold.

He's rubbish to play with and transform but he isnt meant to be played with or transformed daily anyway.

He's a delicate, adult collectable much like that overpriced, overhyped sideshow statue of Optimus, or other similar products like the DMK Kits.

He is meant to be looked at, not touched or played with and i think he looks spectacular just standing there overseeing his minions.

He doesnt need to strike an awesome pose or look perfectly cartoon accurate to be a great addition and centerpiece of anyones collection.

Hell he's only out done by MP Prime in my collection.

A pussyfied, shrunken down version of him just doesnt hold any appeal.

Megatron should be big and tall and imposing and MP Megatron does that perfectly.

The fact that other MP's have shrunken down to the size they are is bad enough, why oh why Has/Tak?!

Imagine a shelf full of MP's all the same scale as each other (as tall as MP Prime and Megatron), wouldnt that have been awesome?!
:love

I would have been perfectly happy with a humongous Starscream and Grimlock on my display, but. . .not to be, so we make do. My first foray into the 3rd party figures was buying Deak's Faith Leader so he wouldn't be so ridiculously out of scale with my Alts, Starscream, and Grimlock.

I don't like your face! :rotfl

You're welcome! :duff I dunno, I like the Revoltechs for what they are but yeah I prefer my Transformers to actually transform. :huh

I just bought a Megs off someone whom I got an MP-04 prime from last week...I should have him by saturday. Pretty happy with those two figures...the Megatron I got does come with metal grips? and the gun accessories...cant beat it for $50 shipped though

Well, I actually sort of agree with you, to be quite honest. Or else, I would have, prior to MP Starscream's release. I too would have loved MPs to be in the same scale as MP Prime and Megatron, but it just wasn't in the cards I guess.

I was soooooo disappointed with the scale of MP Starscream... and it honestly turned me off collecting Transformers for a long time. I sold off all my Alternators, and only kept MP Prime (the first US version) and MP Megatron. When Grimlock was announced, and then subsequently released, I was disappointed yet again.

And then iGear came along with an MP Prime in scale with the MP Seekers and Grimlock, as well as a lot of the Classics/Henkei figures.

And now that I think of it... I know you hate the Third Party stuff, Dubs, but consider this: that one figure - Faith Leader - got me to (thus far) buy MP Starscream, Skywarp, and Grimlock, along with Henkei Prowl, Hound, Red Alert, United Jazz, Grapple, Tracks and Bumblebee, RTS Hot Rod/Cyclonus 2-pack, and Classics Wheeljack, Thundercracker, and Warpath.

In fact, the only other third party stuff I have so far is the Perfect Effect Reflector and the Gears of War Henkei set, along with Exgraver paid for and on the way. That's a pretty one-sided official to third party ratio there. Even considering the very high likelihood that I will get the rest of the Hercticons, Horror Monarch, Ironhide, Ratchet, the Minibots, and that MP-style Soundwave and Blaster that has been shown in prototype form, it's a good balance. After all, I still plan on getting Henkei Sunstreaker, Sideswipe (or maybe the American version?), Bluestreak, Inferno, and Smokescreen, just to mention a few official releases off the top of my head.
