Pics of the green Maketoys Giant and Takara voyager Megatron. Looks like this will come with shiny paint and two Minicons, though who knows how many of those paintapps are stickers.

Couldn't see the pics, but I checked them out on Seibertron.

Megs looks good. Wish I had known about this yesterday - I just made a preorder with Robotkingdom, would have added this to it!

Oh well, TFC-007, the Wheeljack unmasked headsculpt from Prime, and both Takara Vehicons are locked in for now. :)

Their Minibots are all original designs, likewise for Ironhide, Ratchet, Arcee, Impactor and the larger scaled versions of Bumblebee & Cliffjumper

The only molds they've directly reused are the first MP Prime and Starscream.

The notion that iGear only rip off existing molds is complete BS.

If you look at some of the parts on Iron Hide and Ratchet, you will see that they "borrowed" some design from Voyager Inferno and Grappel.

The panels that hang off the back of the arms are similar but that's it.

Transforming robots have been around for 30 plus years, there's no end of similarities across multiple character and lines as there's only so many ways of doing things until someone invents actual mass shifting technology and downsizes it to be used for toys.

Has/Tak themselves reuse concepts over and over but none of the anti iGear lot ever says anything about that.

It's only because some people have them down as the Anti Christ of the TF scene that these things ever get mentioned.

The core problem I have with igear is that they do too much and don't follow through with it. For starters the Ultra Magnus trailer that they stated was coming soon never happened. I took their word for it and bought 2 of them only to find out that they decided to not follow through.

Has/Tak reuse concepts over and over is fine with me because they probably came up with the concept.

Seriously.

Bought two UM trailers? I don't recall those ever being on preorder...

But point taken. iGear can be a little too... ambitious. What we do end up getting from them is still pretty cool, though, so that shouldn't let that get in the way of enjoying the figures they make.

If iGear lack anything it's the ability to make millions off several different crappy Deluxe Bumblebee toys which subsequently means their development budget is considerably smaller than Has/Tak so some projects will get canned or put on hold until they can afford to put them into production.

I have to question the obsession amongst some of the online community with where iGear get their designs from though especially now they're moving away from direct ripoffs.

Has/Tak have consistently failed for DECADES to make decent toys of G1 Ironhide and Ratchet ( among others ) and iGear and their partners are addressing this so I'm not going to hang around and wait for Has/Tak versions that probably won't happen.....anyone remember their promise of a Classics Arcee?

No, I bought 2 of the mini ultra magnus knock off because I specifically received a response from igear stating that they trailer was coming soon. I guess I should have know better.

That is one of the benefits of being a small company, they can be nimble and do fan requests where as Has/Tak has processes that gets the wheels going, but igear wouldn't have anything if it were not for Has/Tak that started it all.

I'm sure they appreciate that, too.

I get the impression that most, if not all, of these third party companies are made up of fans, primarily.
