I haven't seen those before :hi5: NICE! I'm going to try and hunt those down. Where do you get them?

I ordered mine from Tfsource, due to be released the end of this month. Four color options of gray, dark grey, painted silver, and chrome. While being expensive, the chromed set comes with metal exhaust stacks for Optimus.

These guys dispatch orders very quickly and they arrive fast too. Cant comment on the quality of the actual item, but they look brilliant and if the hands are anything to go buy then these should be awesome.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I love TFSource. I went looking for the buster guns and ended up ordering the UFO Metallic Hands, Axe and shield :lol

I may email them and add the chrome buster cannons as well. I'm gunna have a loaded Prime, that's for sure!

All you need now is a trailer.

Wish someone would make an affordable movie accurate one. Maybe something that can store mechtech weapons and other third party stuff for prime.

I wouldn't mind if some company would just upsize the one that came with the Takara voyager Optimus.

Damn. Missed the Sounwave video. Sorry to hear some of you are disappointed in him. I've got him on pre-order. He's an essential character, and I had the figure as a kid, so this is a no-brainer. I probably should hold out for a U.S. re-release, but who knows? Could end up being very expensive a la MP-10, or might not even happen! We still haven't seen MP-11 Starscream here in the states, and I thought that would happen pretty quickly.

Finally received my MP-01.
I´m in love...really.

Hope you guys like´em.
I got him mint in box, although the transformation is slightly hindered due to his fueltankfunction for shorting the legs is kinda hard to get, dunno why. But I´ll keep him in robot mode either way, so I´ll try to transform him and the do a few pics more.

God, I can´t stop starin´at this guy.

He's awesome isn't he? I have the Hasbro version, with aftermarket full length smokestacks.

To me, this is how MP's always should have been. I don't like how they have shrunk, yet the price stays the same. Everyone who looks at my collection always gravitates towards him, since he is huge, you dont get that with the small Mp's, they all just kinda blend in which is a shame. I still like some of the MP's, but to me this is the pinnacle of Transformers collectables.

Absolutely.
I wanted this version cause going with the hasbro version would´ve caused me to go ofter stacks and that´s harder from germany out.

I also was considering MP-10, cause he looks great, but I like the steel parts on 01 and overall look on him.

Hope Soundwave, Galvatron and Magnus will fit in with my MP-01 and 05...

Everything from MP10 onwards is scaled in relation to it as Takara are attempting to stick to a consistent scale so if you're expecting those 3 to fit in properly with the original Prime & Megatron molds you will likely be disappointed.

Unless Takara make Skyfire, Omega Supreme or a combiner, it is likely that the MP0, it's variants and MP05 will remain the only ones in that scale and diecast thankfully seems to have been something else Takara have ditched too....it does nothing but add stability issues and increase the risk of paint chipping.

I feel the same way in a sense. I think MP-01 and MP-05 really epitomize was a "masterpiece" Transformer figure should be (putting aside leg design quibbles with Megs).

Don't get me wrong--I still love the Masterpiece figures because they are the best updates we've seen to the G1 character models. But I wouldn't consider them real "Masterpieces." They are really what "Classics" figures should be IMO. And the jacked up prices on these things are ridiculous. If MP-01 was released today--in that size and made of metal like he originally was--he would probably retail for $300, minimum.

Something that has undoubtedly contributed to the change in scale in the Masterpiece line is the ongoing rise in production costs, the raw materials don't go down in price.

It should also be remembered that Takara are a business and not a charity, so price rises will always occur whenever they think they can get away with doing so.

This happens all the time in every other industry so it should be no suprise that toy/collectibles companies operate in the same way.

Of course your right, talking of the steel and the paint and there are little parts, due to getting Prime second hand, but those are little and stability is no problem with me.
He stands good and poses are achieved good too and not harder to achieve and hold like HT figures.

And of course I know that probably Galvatron, Magnus and Soundwave won't fit, but one can hope, right?!

I'm also not new to the transformer game, I follow Seibertron and TFW2005 daily, know the sizes and watched G1. But maybe...just maybe...since Magnus and Galvatron will be the first of their kind in MP form (not counting MP-02) they'll fit.

We'll have to see...

They wont, since they have decided to screw all the sizes up now. Scale was never an issue for me though, however when paying £300+ for a toy, i expect it to be huge, and have metal parts in it. Sucks they have ditched all the things that made MP's so awesome.

Magnus might be quite big but i doubt he'll be anything close to MP-01 size...shame.

I also have no stability issues with my MP-01 either, or any paint ones for that matter. The only reason you dont get paint chipping issues these days is because most of the parts are dyed the color they want, they dont actually use any paint at all these days....if they do its very very little, another shame.
