Here's a pic of my latest TF purchase, the Takara Henkei (Classics) Bumblebee alongside my repainted Hasbro Classics Cliffjumper,

Bumblebee should've looked like this in the movie IMO. VW wouldn't let them use the Beetle so the producers should've made his car mode a generic looking small car as opposed to a Camaro. I'm not saying the Camaro is a crappy car,far from it,but IMO it's not suitable for Bumblebee who's supposedly the runt of the Autobot litter. I've also got a Takara Music Label Soundwave on the way so I'll post pics of that when it arrives.

i never understood the reasom why Hasbro used the cut-off stacks? The excuse that a kid could poke his or another kids eye with it just sounded little overreaching.

It's possible the matte red paint and modified smoke stacks were part of how they got the rights to release the figure, distinguish it from the MP version enough to make that one still a solid collectible and fetch the type of money it does.

I actually do think the smokestacks are a safety issue. I believe there are regulations about how long things like that can be, so they had to either shorten them or make them out of a bendy material like rubber.

No, the smoke stacks are an American child safety choke hazard thing, just like having to put the orange tip on Megatron. America has retarded child safety laws.

And the paint job of the the 1st US 20 anniversary Prime(1st US release) matches the Takara MP paint apps. It has nothing to do with rights.

It was said that hasbro changed the paint scheme on the 20th anniversary DVD Prime(2nd US release) to better match the cartoon color of Prime.

Good old American society, parents and children are too stupid to take care of themselves so let's make the U.S. government make laws and regulations to protect the inept in society. :monkey4

The long stacks definitely look a lot better (and glad I have them) but in all honesty if no one ever mentioned it I probably never would have noticed the difference.

But the important thing, is if you are looking for Prime the Masterpiece versions are the ones to have, they own all other figures :rock

It's not like with Sideshow where they import Hot Toys' stuff; Hasbro and Takara actually WORK with each other.

love that Grimlock!! I haven't watched the new animated show. is it any good?

Ooooh, toughy. I dislike the animation style, the human villians are wacky to say the least, they mishandled Soundwave (starts out as a toyrobot who later comes to life and tries to create a robot rebellion, only to be defeated with a single punch :monkey4) and it can get really, REALLY childish at times. BUT, the fighting scenes are very well choreographed, it has the best Starscream and Megatron evah, the characters (save for the overexposed Bulkhead and whiny Prime) are developed well, the story got excellent at times...Plus, it's a fun series to watch.

It really depends on if you like cartoons that can become childish fun at times. There are some very good eps ("Thrill of the Hunt" is generally seen as one of the best TF episodes ever, up there with Beast War's "Code of Hero"), but some complete crap ones too.

I think all 3 on the right are supposed to be from the movie... but the ones that transform look less like their movie counterparts.

Which brand / model is the Optimus Prime movie version (the one on the right, in front of the big one)

It's the Robot Replicas Optimus Prime. It's the best functional representation of movie Prime around, though the Unleashed figure, which was absent in that photo, better captures him. Both have significant issues, which is why I'd like at least one nice representation of it from someone.

Can I just say that I can't wait for this bad ass!? :rock

I know there was already a pic posted of him somewhere, but not in Dino form.
