Some of the most influential and earth shattering action films in history... "OK."

What qualifies a good director then? What even qualifies even a good film? A bunch of quick cuts? Awkward camera angles just for the sake of it? Snazzy soundtracks no one has ever heard since the 60s or 70s? How ****ing high art does a film have to be to get above "OK" to you... when it's pretty much consensus of any male above 20 years old will say T1-2 and Aliens are pretty much the highest you could go in the Sci-fi action genre?

Since my original reply to this got deleted I'm going to reply again. A good director makes good films. Not a few mediocre action movies with bad acting. T1, T2, and Aliens are not the highest you can go in the Sci-fi action genre. Not even close. There not that great of movies. Just deal with it.

The thread is about favorite directors...not greatest, and Cameron has made plenty of films that are among people's favorite films.

:lol No one has to 'deal with' anything.

I hardly think a few harsh words by a young fellow on a toy forum are going to supplant the long and commonly held belief that those are three of the highest benchmarks in sci-fi action cinema.

I'm not trying to change anyone's beliefs I'm just posting my opinion. So deal with it. :lol

How many times are you going to dig this hole for yourself? Just deal with it.

After reading the discourse of this thread, I hate to admit Christopher Nolan is my favorite director and I don't care for James Cameron's body of work all that much :lol
