In defense of that, no other center in the NBA has had better numbers in terms of points and rebounds per game than Yao has. Since he has returned from the knee injury the Rockets have won 7 of their last 9 and have a very good overall record. They still probably cannot beat the Suns or Mavs in the West but Yao has established his credibility.

What starting NBA center had better numbers in both scoring and rebounding than Yao for the previous season (2005-2006)?

This is two straight seasons where he is the premier center in the league. Because of his height and his nationality, I think he will never please some of his critics. I have noticed that some of his harshest critics have been folks like Charles Barkley who openly want the NBA to keep its image as the "urban" game and are not that happy with the foreign born players taking away both jobs and the spotlight from "urban" Americans.

That is fairly racist in my humble opinion. What ever happened to love of diversity?

McGrady is too inconsistant and plays 0 defense..

Both are injury prone as well.

Ill take a young Andrew Bynum with the world ahead of him over Yao..

Sad to see Chris go - I think he was railroaded. He and the beatbox guy are the only decent guys. But the judges continually put Chris down even when he did really well. I guess they didn't want another Ruben problem where the best singer wins but doesn't fit the pop idol mold.

i never voted for idol nor have i ever watched it till the other night.and im proud to say i voted for sanjaya at least 50 times.i have joined the VOTE FOR SANJAYA MOVEMENT....:chew :chew
