I understand where you are coming from. Sideshow is leading the way in many respects but I still don't think that we can excuse the results 100% on this fact.not defending anybody, but I think the higher number of defects in SS's product comes mainly due to the fact that SS's pieces are more intricate and incorporate new design attributes these manufacturers arent used to dealing with and have more trouble reproducing because most of SS's pieces arent the same ol cookie cutter product.
what they produce not only breaks boundries for what collectibles can be and takes a statue to another level other companies didnt dare try until SS blazed the trail (fiberoptics/lights, magnetic interchangable parts, mixed media etc.), it also creates a learning curve with each piece to a certain extent with the factories. But its the price you pay for ground breaking collectibles.
you could use an Olympics vs X-Games comparison.
Olympics = very little broken bones during games due to the same ol boring events. (boring)
X-Games = Broken bones everywhere due to the new grounds they reach & tricks they attempt. (a blast to watch)
... now. Dont get me wrong. Sometimes their factories ship some things that should in no way shape or form be let out the door. but they all do at some point.
Olympics, boring? Only if you have the attention span of a flea. But then, I don't find the X-Games a blast to watch. Mainly because most of the contestants in those events do have the attention span of the average flea.you could use an Olympics vs X-Games comparison.
