It's not too expensive so much as I've got a big trip I'm planning in August after I graduate so I have to justify spending that kind of money on it instead of putting it towards the trip. Plus once I buy this I'll have to order Duel of the Fates too so I have to factor that in.

So I sit perched on the fence waiting for smething to persuade me.

Is there anyone who doesn't love this piece?

It's been a highlight of Sideshow's overall output of 2007 (and 2006) for me, and so far only the Alien dioramas have lived up to the standard.

Of course, I have a hunch I'll love the Dookurama, too. The DOTF, though -- it's not clicking for me right now.

I just can't justify the price. I am sorry and I am a huge Sideshow fan. I just don't see how these dios are worth it. AT ALL! Sorry! :monkey2

The same could be said man about some of the stuff you buy. Its worth it cause we that buy them deam them as such. Thats how I see it anyways. 2 me these capture the moments and the emotions in them.

This is hasbro and it captures the emotion at about $220 less than the Sideshow one. Explain that.

Oh and yes this is a piece of plastic. Josh I will fight you to the end on the dios. They are over priced. I will not call them names or any such thing. They are great sculpts and such. However, if I want miniatures I will play D&D.

You can feel that way. IMO the hasbro piece is a cheap toy that looks and feels cheap. It captures what you might find in a comic or something but not what came from the movie and book @ least to me.

The SS dios to me are some of the best pieces SS is doing right now. The paint, sculpts, and detail just capture everything I personally feel from these moments.

Your first post in this entire thread after I bump it from near death is to tell someone you think these are cheap plastic? Kind of lame BM? You drunk again?

Fight me on the dios? Go ahead. I like them and don't give a **** if you do. So there won't be any fight from me. Cause I think they're worth it and will keep buying the ones I like. Welcome 2 ignore.

lol why even bother dude? same song and dance with that guy. Josh does it again, you simply said your 2cents and yet he has to contradict you with his 2 cents. then when you make another comment he'll just say that it is his opinion and he's entitled to it. :rotfl

what do people who own these think they are worth? I mean if there wasn't a listed price, what would you say it should be sold for?

just curious because I have wondered about the price but I haven't seen one in person to say one way or the other.

I own those two--- Sorry, but they're crap.
I own the Obi vs. Anakin and it's phenomenal. A real eye-catcher just as Jabba and his throne are in the 1/6 line.

I mean, why bother with the SIDESHOW Jabba when you can get this (and it comes with a Han!!!)

To each their own. I agree with Josh in this case-- the dio line is a fantastic way to capture these key moments of conflict.

And with Sideshow you have to pay an extra $50 for Han.:D The dios are the best!

Damn Josh I must have plucked a nerve. :lol

Ignore is a little harsh there buddy. Also I wasn't personally attacking you. Then you personally attack me and make remarks about me being drunk. What's up with that?

Josh I never posted they were cheap plastic either. I said I thought they were over priced. In my one post I stated "and yes this is a piece of plastic". I was talking about the Hasbro set. I was just stating that IMO them being plastic figures and all. They still hold up to the polystone dio. Again this is all my opinion when I weigh in the price. I also said that sideshows piece is a great sculpt. My argument is not the quality but the price. Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions.

You "attacked" a SS product....so yes, you did attack him personally :lol

I got mine for under $200 shipped. I can't believe you're making me do this, but I gotta side with Josh in this argument.

I know that you're complaining about the size, but to my knowledge, all VS pieces are roughly 1/9 scale.

I gotta go with Josh and Loki on this one too. I tried to resist the lure of the vs, but I finally am giving in. Plus if they were any bigger they'd be be darn near impossible to display.

Your right because the size of these are perfect I think. Big enough to show plenty of detail and also a good display size. Though when I was comparing this with the Helm's deep dio it seemed that Ani and Obi were a bit smaller than Aragorn and the Uruk-hai when put together.
