I've been using Silpak 1328 with the "Green" catalyst for years. The blue catalyst is inherently less flexible than the green.
That's been my experience, anyway.

As for two part molds...definitely the way to go. Less time rotocasting and tending the fire, so to speak.

Thanks! Very helpful. How do you prevent shape distortion with a more flexible mold? I recently purchased a new blue silicone that’s a lot more flexible.

I see that my vaccum pot and pump landed today..so, I’ll be back in the swing of things soon.

Here’s some pictures, one perfect cast and one imperfect.

My vaccum pump and and pot have arrived. Back to business.

I spoke with a SilPak professional yetrday and he recommended I let the molds rest a day or two before casting and also use a primer in the mold to create a barrier between the silicone mold and resin. This will produce a grey helmet but that might be good for some items and sandrrooper helmets.

So I’ll give you guys options on decal color. I had to make some all blue to get a brighter blue cheek stripes.

Grey, grayish blue or any variation...I think I have them all.
