Something that I just noticed is that Obi-wan comes with 5 pairs of hands (10 total) and Anakin only comes with 3 pairs (6 total). I know it seems minor, but considering both figures cost the same, it's odd to me for one to come with less than the other, especially as something as cheap as hands.

Hopefully more accessories are added with the cost of the figure. Or at least a second head sculpt. Maybe the cost difference is Obi beard lol

Anakin never does the same amount of hand gestures Obi Wan does. But it is strange that they cheaped out on hands.

Love Sideshow but they are not on par with Hot Toys and they are charging Hot Toys price. It should be more Threezero price range. Happy they are making it but I’m losing interest in them as a company.

I really doubt that SS will decide to include something extra during production, even something as simple as hands. I don't think they've ever done that to my recollection. Would be a nice surprise, and I'd be happy to be wrong, I just don't see SS doing anything more than the bare minimum as they always do. And this is coming from someone who actually likes all the SS figures I own (though many times I don't know why with all the work I put into them :lol )

True, but the hands they left out were nothing specific to Obi-wan imo. They left out the "gesture" and "relaxed/neutral" pairs of hands. The gesture hands are sort of in the Jedi mind-trick pose which one could argue is more of an Obiwan thing, but if memory serves me, they both did that in the show. Just seems like something so simple and probably one of the cheapest things being made/manufactured on any figure to leave out for any sort of reason. It's nice to have as many options as possible. It's why I bought some of the Qui-Gon hands for my EP3 Obiwan.

I think many of us (at least on the board) are getting pretty tired of SS and their prices vs quality/value per item. Though I do like and own my fair share of SS figures (mostly due to their comics lines), I've been buying all my figures on the after market at lower prices b/c it's hard to justify their retail prices especially when you add on tax and shipping. Though, on a similar note, I'm getting bored with HT as nothing they've produced recently has really interested me at all. I don't have any HT figures on PO and the only SS figure is R2D2.

With their current Grievous debacle, I see these being the only two of this CW style. I really want them to be good, but SS seems to be about shortcuts and their 1/6 always suffer from that.

I think those wishing for extra accessories to justify the price are in for a world of hurt. At this stage I'd just count your blessings if these look anything like the prototypes and don't come with floppy bodies. I'd like to say Sideshow will have learnt their lesson from Grievous... but yeah this is Sideshow. I wouldn't dream of pre-ordering them until I saw the final product.

Both delayed to June/July at the earliest.

Silver lining being that if these suck, I can now get my nrd back from them.

But I really hope they deliver the goods.

Very cool, guessing Anakin and Obi-Wan have sold well for them.

Hoping we see more from this line on May 4th.

Interesting! Probably a pass for me, though.

Guess they are going to play the long game and wait for Hot Toys Ahsoka and clones to sell more before trying to directly compete.

The announcement of Yoda and the continuation of this line is kinda cool, but I’m probably not going to get these figures.

I have too many Hot Toys Star Wars figures as is and don’t need to double up for figures that aren’t going to fit with a majority of ones I have.

Still waiting on in-hand photos and reviews for Kenobi/Skywalker, assuming they sold well enough to continue the line though

Don't trust Sideshow at all.

There's potential if they can work on their quality control, but the potential for disaster is much higher.

And what if the first batch is okay but the later batch has a drop in quality like the Mythos figures.

Really difficult to get excited for these when we know Sideshow doesn't really focus much on sixth scale figures. The lack of care really shows.

Between that and with them being priced at HT prices, I'm leaning on probably being out on this line, I just can't trust their product, unless these figures really blow us away.

Which is a shame because Anakin looks amazing.

Yep, not buying anything from this line until I see people with these in hand. I have no faith in Sideshow products.

I bought their Darth Maul figure years ago when I was fairly new to collecting and it wasn’t long before he turned into a floppy mess, wrist pegs couldn’t hold the hands on and the lightsaber wasn’t straight with the blades plugged in.

That figure currently sits rotting away in a box in the shed out back.
