Well I just got the Legolas Animaquette and I think it's pretty detailed. More than I originally thought it would be. I think overall they're a nice change of pace.

Well, I'm not knocking them, exactly. I have all of the LOTR ones, and compared to normal statues they have a lot of smooth surfaces and a stylized design that you could probably pull off for less money using a different material.
For example, I have some animated-style Pirates of the Caribbean figures that are quite similar in style, if somewhat smaller, and they were only a few dollars apiece.

Yeah your probably right that they could have pulled it off with a cheaper material. I guess they wanted them to be in the same class as other collectible statues even though they're animated. I was pleasantly surprised when I got Legolas, I was expecting him to be alot smaller than what he is. And it made it all the better cause I got him as a gift. I might get the Gimli so I can put their bases together.

They do look nice together. You can get most of them really cheaply now too.

Here are my LOTR animaquettes by the way. I wouldn't have bought them at retail, but you can easily get them for 50% off or less now. The bad part is that the line really feels incomplete without any hobbits.

Thanks for posting that cruise. Legolas and Gimli really look great together, I'm gonna have to get Gimli to complete the set sometime. I really like the way the Ringwraith and Gandalf look too.
Even without the hobbits they look really good together, I like how you have them displayed man. It's just a good thing I'm not much of a completionist.

i only have the exclusive black ringwrath maquette but i might have to pick up the rest, they look nice together.
