Anime Figure/Statue Discussion Thread

Me either, to an extent. I own a few statues with a lot of skin showing, but I bought them mainly because the overall esthetic effect is just plain beautiful. Nudity in art doesn't have to be prurient.

I don't think I could get away with displaying any of those, if you got them, more power to ya. Just not for me.

I just don't understand the appeal of that Hentai stuff.

we have a few figures that one could consider hentai... we both like them but are only displayed in our own bedroom just to not shock more prudent members of the family and such
we mostly 'collect' the Keumaya figures since they are quite pieces of art ^^
besides, none of our figures are displayed completely naked but tastefully half-dressed

The Romans, Mayans and other ancient people did have small ceramic or wooden statues of naked women celebrating fertility and so on. The sexuality in other people's culture (Asia, Africa) is not so bound and restricted like in the Western society...

That Catwoman looks pretty awesome Tyler, but I skipped all the other Bushido - so that one would look a bit outa place. It is a great sculpt though...

I skipped them too. But man the catwoman is nice. I love the base. Wish it would not stick out like a sore thumb in my collection.

Art is in the eye of the beholder. It is not something that needs to transcend all, but others should not be judged either.

So far the Mai statue is the best I have seen, I am sure there are others but the way her face was sculptured in this statue really sold it to me.

Fortunately I bought her from Hobby Japan (AUS) and can actually inspect the statue before buying it.

If I see anything online, I'd head down to my local hobby store and ask them if they can order / find it and make sure its legit.

I skipped them too. But man the catwoman is I always like this character.

Yeah, she's 1 of the popular ones of the Battle Vixens.

+ there are so many variations of her, it's great.

I got the Sideshow Psylocke Comiquette not too long ago as well as the Scarlet Witch Comiquette. I have the Cover Girls Harley Quinn already on it's way to me also and I plan on getting Supergirl, so I've already started working on it.

i have a couple of castoff anime figures but i seldom display them topless. in fact, my gf is the one who loves them without their clothes on more than i do. kinky girl, that one...

no experience with that site. Did just send an email regarding some figures..
the prices look normal but they have a lot of figures in stock that are hard to believe (some of them are sold out everywhere for years/months)

Those are from the show Neon Genesis Evangelion. The pods are "Entry plugs", that go inside of giant mechs-robots. The pilots of the mechs, get inside the Entry Plugs before being inserted into the mechs, which are called Evangelions. Hope that helps, as i'm not the best at explaining things.


Congrats on the new Bat Girl, Havoc. I'm not into the superhero anime stuff, but it looks really nice.
