Give it time, in a few years Russo's and Gunn won't be in talking terms with Marvel.

Just how Marvel wants it, get artist to hate them so that they don't have to continue paying big money for them to hang around, new blood is much cheaper.

I worked at a place that as soon as a manager started making good money they would make their lives miserable enough to force them to quit so that they could hire a new manager with a cheaper salary.

Every department worked the same way.

Yep.___

Sadly I too have worked at companies like this. Fingers crossed my new company doesn't operate like this.

The Russos should make one more Marvel movie and then split anyway. There's nothing great they can truly do at Marvel that they haven't already done. TWS is about as 'great' as a Marvel movie is ever going to be during the Feige rein.

In time, when Marvel needs to refresh and reinvigorate itself from monotonous carbon-copy films with dwindling budgets, perhaps there will be a new era of excitement and energy for new talent to take advantage of and generate something truly awesome. That time has passed now for this generation.

Nah, too early to hang up the towel, a movie better than IM1\TWS\Avengers might still be made in Phase 3.

I agree. But I think there's only one left. But it's not like before when almost every movie cranked out was pretty good. I see the drop-off coming this summer with Ultron and Ant-Man. Then viewers get more desperate to hang their hope on the next one. Expectations too high, so that one crashes... and so on.

Considering most movie franchises suck by the 2nd movie I think MCU track record is pretty decent, along with the X-Men franchise.

LOTR is still king of course, 3 consecutive perfect movies.

Batman has 4 great movies, 89/BR/BB/TDK and Max has 3, MM/TRW/FR.

SW OT: 2 1/2
Terminator: 2
Alien: 2
Godfather: 2
Superman: 2
Indy: 1
Jaws: 1
Die Hard: 1
Predator: 1

I don't think the MCU or Fox with X-Men are doing so bad overall when compared to this list.

While MCU doesn't have any single movie that is as good as those from that list, it has more good movies than most of those franchises.

I guess that's true.

Though Marvel is hard to compare as it derives much success from reverse spin-offs.

Counted as individual series:

Iron Man - 1 good movie
Thor - 1 good movie
Cap - 2 good movies
Avengers - 1 good movie

Marvel starts to fair like all the others you mentioned.

Or we could play Marvel against Lucasverse:

SW/Indy/OT - 5 good movies (SW, ESB 1/2 ROTJ, ROTLA, TOD, 1/2 ROTS)

Saw this the other day, I enjoyed it. :yess: Lot of references and nods, and the tie-ins to the rest of the universe are clear. Plus, I heard Paul shot a scene for Civil War a few weeks ago after we were done. Would've loved to meet him in person.

I think Marvel movies have already statred to be formula with fatigue setting in. We'll see if Ant Man can change that. I thought AoU was the worst of the current crop since last Summer.

judging by the previews, I'll most likely see this but not getting my hopes up to high. Think if they stick to the more comical side and don't get to serious it'll be an enjoyable viewing...

Agreed with those. Except Avengers. Guardians is 1 for 1 so far too

How is it as a movie?

Not an universe entry but as a movie

She thought JW sucked? My kind of girl :banana :lol

She did, apparently there was actually people justifying running with heels on grass? :slap and she's into the whole "muh fun summer blockbuster" thing, good thing she understands standards don't have to be low for summer movies, her review is pretty fun.

She's also a big fan of the 1st JP and Jeff Goldblum in general.

She's great, she hates PC crap in comics, likes cool movies, knows a **** ton about comics, she's my total waifu.

I know a girl who can run in the jungle with heels while being chased by Dinosaurs and Sharks, just because you don't doesn't mean it can't happen.
