What is funny is that expectations for this will be so low it has the potential to be a sleeper hit. There has been rumors that this treatment was planned post Avengers and that Avengers would be used to introduce the character but that hasn't been backed up via Marvel Studios.

I haven't read much Ant-Man but a character that can change sizes and can control ants is pretty boring IMO. This one seems like box office poison to me. Hopefully it comes out before Avengers is in production and tanks so they much a better character in Avengers.

I agree that Ant-Man solo is a pretty boring character. But as part of The Avengers Pym can be quite interesting. He's the a-hole on the team, even butting heads with his own wife (Wasp) at times.

Have any of you all read the new Ant-man comic? It follows a scummy, low level SHIELD agent who steals the Ant-Man suit off the body of his dead friend and proceeds to watch a bunch of chicks shower.

It's one of the better comics I've read in awhile, very funny.

Wow, so much Ant-Man negativity. I don't know if you guys have read his new series, but I think it's entertaining and would love to see an Ant-Man movie. I think Sasha Mitchell should be Ant-Man.

A small tidbit of movement on this front:

I Am Rogue spoke to Attack the Block director Joe Cornish recently and the topic of Ant Man came up. Here’s the minor update:

‘Yeah, Ant-Man is still going,’ confirmed Cornish. ‘Edgar and I were writing on it only the day before yesterday,’ he admitted. I followed up by asking if they were doing a lot of rewriting on the script. ‘Yeah, we’re just drafting and drafting,’ he said. Finally, with Wright’s busy schedule, I wanted to find out if Cornish thought that Edgar would still end up directing the movie. ‘Yes,’ Cornish answered. ‘I’m just a humble writer on that one,’ he said in closing.

I don't see how an ant-man movie could be a success

Just read ''Irreademable Ant-Man'' by Kirkman and see all the possibilties and entertainment value of a ant-man movie.

They'll make a comic book film of any character these days.

If Edgar Wright is directing and writing, then this could very well be good. Without him, my interest would certainly dwindle away. Still would rather see so many others get an opportunity to shine before Ant-Man though. More so than anyone, I'm waiting on Fox or Ryan Reynolds or whoever to get the ball rolling on Deadpool!

People saying he's lame probably have never read any of the comics he was featured in, I bet half the people hyping up the Avengers have never even read the stories. :(

Ant man is awesome, small things come in small packages, unless you pad it a lot.
