I was asked to take a photo of the Freeman head, so here is a pic with SS Indy for reference. Freeman is a total loss, but Hitchcock might be ok since he was a heavy man and I am planning on displaying him alone anyway. Next to a Hot Toys head Hitchcock is massive but he is almost in scale with Sideshow heads.

Which Ada heads do you own? Maybe we can come up with a list of which heads are "safe" to buy from her. :lol

Oh wow that truly is a HUGE deal and very very noticable too. Thanks for the pics, I appreciate it.

Yeah, when I got them in the package together, I knew right away Hitchcock was ginormous. I thought Freeman would be fine and that it just looked small because I was comparing it to Hitchcock. Then I pulled out a hot toys head and realized the Freeman head was tiny and the Hitchcock head was huge. DOH!!! If Ada charged $5 a head, it might be worth all the hassle of trying to use her heads. I really wish there was a better alternative.

*Edit: I realize there are other sculptors out there, but none seem to offer as many new heads as fast as Ada churns them out. Then again, if she took her time maybe her heads wouldn't suck. :)

Is this our only alternative for Freeman? I REALLY want to make an Ellis Redding custom.

It's the only Freeman I have seen. We could always start up a commission thread, but those seem to be in abundance and with only one sculptor taking them on, I think they are pretty much at a standstill.

Our only other option would be to have someone try to enlarge the Ada Freeman head using Hydrospan. It's a bear of a process, but might be a cheaper option in the long run. I will gladly give up my Freeman head for the process if someone reputable wants to try.

This is a pretty cool idea and I also think it would narrow down alot of time too. Now the question is, who's it gonna be?

Chris Howes is possibly going to do a Freeman/Lucius Fox head sculpt at some point. Morgan Freeman never seems to age so I think we could probably use the same sculpt for Se7en/Shawshank/Batman customs

I am tempted to just wait it out and let someone better sculpt a Freeman head, but I would also be down for enlarging this one. I sent a PM to the only person I know that could probably pull it off. We will see what happens.

I own:
Bald Angelina Jolie (the only one a bit small)
Brad Pitt *
Clooney
Lee Majors (not a good as the pics on the site show. Head is Dragon size)
Kristin Kreuk (or she's supposed to be!)
Tom Welling
Kevin Spicey (ugly, looks like he's taken a door in the face!)
M Rosenbaum (good likeness but too skinny)
Grissom (a bit smaller but still okay)
George Reeves
Eastwood *(pale rider- one of the best!)
Dean and Sam Winchester* (Sam is great, Dean less so)
Robert Conrad *
Robert De Niro *
Jack Lord *

Oh ,and I forgot Dexter Morgan!

Well, for the moment, they're sitting around! I've got so many projects that I can't find the time to do everything I'd like to do! Moreover, those heads are far from perfect and I'd like to recast them first to modify them before using them. There aren't many of them that can be used without mods if you want something really good! BTW, when I say the size is good, keep in mind that IMHO, these sculpts were made for Dragon bodies, so they're perfectly in scale for them, less so for Buck bodies.
I'm going to edit my previous thread and add a star in front of those good enough to be used without mods! :D

Interesting concept for collecting. Lots of money tied into stuff that is substandard and/or you don't have the rest of the figure in place to finish it.

Well, I am not sure how you do it, but I have a ton of unpainted heads sitting around here too. I also have shirts that I haven't found or made pants for yet. I have helmets that don't have a head to fit on. I have guns but no body to hold them.

If you don't buy parts when you find them, you may never see them for sale again.

As for having lots of money tied into figures that are substandard, that describes a majority of my Sideshow 12" figures. I bought Bespin Han and Luke for the outfits, Belloq for the idol pedestal and I am replacing Obi Wan and Anakin's heads with the Darren Carnale resculpts.

The main issue is time!!
Also, I don't think it's substandard! I think that lately, the standard have evolved so much the a very good HS is not enough anymore! People want perfect, but for me, what Ada does is interesting. I sculpt too, and sometimes, a good base is a good start. These heads are a good base. Besides, I like doing the outfits completely, not kitbashing, so it takes a lot of time. I know, I'll use these HS, not sure when, that's all!
