I'm reposting my own post so you don't have to scroll back.

I'm all about STAR WARS, but these LOTR figures are my favorite in terms of detail and accuracy in 1/6th scale.

I have a 5' x 10' LOTR banner that I bought from the New Line Shop...They are damn cool. I think they sold out of them....Check ebay.

I was thinking of cancelling my legolos and Boromir to make room for Jaba... but these pics might have made me change my mind...

Did somone say they are fixing Legolos's Legs??? I hope so!

THey look fantastic. In my opinion, even better than the Star Wars 12" figs. This is the line I'm most excited about and it happens to be the slowest moving of the bunch... :monkey2

This is def. a sleeper line for some, I think it's going to blow everyone away once Aragorn comes out!

I can't believe that there wasn't one new LOTR figure at SDCC. :monkey2

I agree 100%. People are going to regret it if they drop this line.

This is one line I have no doubts that I will be a completist on. I will get every exclusive and every accessory they put out. Having seen what they did with jabba I can only imagine what they can possibly do with environments with this line.

Couldn't agree with you more...........

Online retailers and some of the phone reps at SST have all said "August" I'm sure those with Exclusives on order already will definitely be hearing something soon. I'm really praying mine gets converted.

Remember though it was only weeks ago we got the Boromir pre-order. With the detail that goes into the LOTR figures it doesn't surprise me that there wasn't another preview on show.

Tommorrow (sunday) there will be a LOTR/Sideshow panel at the SDCC and they are expected to announce a new item. It could definatley be a 1/6 figure.

In chat, I think I remember Brant mentioning that the 12" LOTR line was the most difficult to do because of all of the detailing involved. Hence the slower release schedule. But it was also mentioned that there would be an announcement post-SDCC/ 3rd Q. :chew

Went to the (mostly disappointing) New Line LOTR presentation today and during the SS segment of the panel it was revealed (via PowerPoint) that the next 12" figure would be of a highly requested character who was NOT a member of the fellowship. In a brief follow-up Q&A an audience member asked if it was possible the next figure would be Faramir to which SS replied, "It's possible".

We also got a glimpse of the (glorious) gatefold packaging for the Aragorn 12". Not compact like the SW boxes, but a long, horizontal presentation box. Swoon.

Also, SS revealed that a new polystone series was coming (gads, another one?) that I *think* might be based on the EA "Battle for Middle Earth" games. Don't quote me on that as the audio in the room was a bit sketchy at that point.

New Line also showed a brief snippet of the new LOTR DVD documentary (which looks awesome, by the way --among the highlights: Ian McKellen in a "special" Gandalf wig called the "Rise and Shine") and noted that the sets would only be available until Christmas. In answer to an attendee's question, HD versions are a ways off as New Line wants to see which format wins out and also wants to be able to give the audience something brand new that they've never seen before. (Perhaps more cut scenes and the blooper reel, I'm hoping...)

A few nice revelations, but a far cry from the days when the doings of Middle Earth would fill an entire hall. I'm sure that will change when The Hobbit gets rolling (the New Line rep. had no info on that, by the way. Too "front office" for her personal knowledge at this time).

This is VERY exciting. NOT a Fellowship member!

I'm hoping for a VILLAIN (meaning not Faramir, sorry).

The most highly requested figure I believe as far as villains go seems to be Saruman. Next in popular mention would be a Nazgul.

I think its time to post a new poll.

:D

I think this is great news....I was hoping that SS would move out of the Fellowship soon...I really hope its a villian......
