Maybe this belongs in Eli's RAGE thread, but I know that I have a habit of dealing with a POS electronic for a short while, give it the benefit of doubt, try and try again to work with it, but once I'm frustrated past my boiling point, I smash the piece of ____ in a variety of methods.

I've been having an ongoing issue with my router AND my internet connection. Think the problem is on both ends. I have two routers that I swap in order to diagnose the problem and I noticed that with a certain one, it causes the internet to come in and out, which is probably the most frustrating experience I've dealt with. So tonight, after having dealt with it for over a year, I calmly unplugged it, and smashed that ____er against my desk. Then I stomped it with my bare heel a few times.

I've also taken a hammer to a piece of ____ cell phone that sucked so bad, and was also so old that donating it wasn't an option. NOTE: I calmly removed the SIM card before smashing it.

and I've thrown a DVD player that just kept skipping and eating/scratching DVD's on the floor in my garage and smashed it in little pieces.

It's not like I go around breaking stuff in my home at random, I do take care of my stuff, but with electronics, after I finally realize and admit that it truly is a piece of crap not worthy of existing, I do get some sort of sick satisfaction out of smashing the crap out of it after having causing me months/years of frustration.

Is this just me? Should I seek help?

YES!!! When my last POS cell phone finally died I took great pleasure taking a hammer to it and smashing it to pieces. It was one of those first generation touch screen ones that never worked. I had to use the Qwerty keyboard to dial. That thing was beyond frustrating. :cuss Smashing it sure felt good. :D

Remind me never to frustrate you.

I one smashed a PS3 controller to pieces, but that was because of the game I was playing. It was an expensive outburst :)

What PS3 game was that? I try avoiding games with cheap difficulty. :monkey4 I am also meticulous with taking care of my stuff, but I have no tolerance for shoddy electronics. Technology is meant to serve us not the other way around.

i once took out my frustration on a VCR that was acting up. it was kinda funny how it worked out, after taking it and swinging it around by it cord a number of times smashing it against a power pole (finally the cord broke) i proceeded to smash the hell out of it with a 10lb. sledge hammer.

MAN did that feel good. after i was done with it, i grabbed a beer and sat on the lawn beside it while my parents came over for a visit:lol they were like WTF.:monkey3:monkey3

as it turned out, it appeared our young daughter at the time inserted a bunch of loose change into the cassette slot so the movie wouldn't go down into the machine and play.

My Feedback: Sounds like you have a combination of self control and pent up sexual frustration issues..

This is what I'm talking about, it feels GOOD, right, like you showed that POS who's the boss. As long as it is handled in a controlled environment, where no kids or preferably anyone are going to witness, and no one is going to get hurt, except maybe a bloody knuckle, I say go for it. That VCR wasn't going to be any good to anyone else, it served it.

Growing up, I used to not be able to hold back and harness my anger, which usually resulted in holes punched through the drywall, but now I can at least wait long enough to let it out without causing collateral damage.

I once took out my frustration in an aisle at a local Canadian Tire. What made me drove to it? I had just lost my wallet earlier while coming in from the parking lot. It turned out that my own mother found it but failed to inform me before I went batshat crazy!:rotfl
