Anyone else thinking of sticking with Hot Toys exclusively for their 1/6 needs?

With $ tight i want the best and we know who makes the best 1/6. Hot toys makes the most realistic representation of 1/6 characters out there. (yes enterbay is good but have not much to offer IMO)


Other 1/6 characters by other "high end" company's almost look hasbro-ish compared to HT. So i'm thinking of sticking with HT and just HT.

Now SS has the SW license so that is a bit of a problem for me. But i think i can just pretty much get only must haves from them (Vader)

And i can for sure get the once in a blue moon medicom figure. (especially at the prices, well except the marvel line which is priced right, and is my fave from them anyways)


Yeah i think for me it's HT only for me from here on out. With the occasional figure from elsewhere if need be. If HT gets SW someday (which i hope sorry SS, but the masters need a crack) I'd be all done with SS.


Anyone feel this way?

I've been debating this move for a while now. Leaving only THE DEAD as the only SSC line to keep. I have only a handful of figures ordered from SSC and its really starting to slow while I have at least a dozen different HT figures on my docket.

I tried to get into 12" before with SS's LOTR and SW line. They felt too...."toyish" to me and not so much a true collectible. They simply were not for me...

Skeptically, I decided to give Hot Toys a chance with the Bank Robber Joker (wanted a collectible of the character), and I fell in love with it. I plan on getting some other HT figures now. And, I never thought I would say this...but, I think I am gonna collect 12" now.

But, only from Hot Toys. To me they are just leaps and bounds better then other 12" figures I have seen.

I might get the Enterbay Jack Bauer (just because of my love for the character). But, other then that it will be strictly Hot Toys for me.

Honestly, some of the figures Hot Toys are putting out put alot of P.F.'s to shame...

I've pretty much been an Hot Toys exclusive collector for the past year. The only thing I have SSC is my Jason figures, I also have the Spiderman 3 figs by Medicom.

I will only collect Hot Toys for 1/6 and SSC for the selected PF's.

Thats about it for me. I am really a 95% 1/6 collector.

Bro if you're a "24" fan you MUST get the Enterbay figure. Its hands down the BEST sculpt i've seen to date!

I can see myself going the same route as you. Hot Toys for 1:6TH Scale and SS for select p.f.'s.

I am considering canceling the Hellboy p.f. so I can get Iron Man and Godfather from Hot Toys.

Well the good thing for me recently is I think i've finally "caught up" to a content collection. Now its just a matter of picking up what I must have.

If Snake Eyes underwhelms me in-hand then that's probably going to be my collecting plan from now on. Indy was nice but a little disappointing, while the Joker is enough to make a non-collector want to be a collector.

They might be more expensive but I'd rather have two HT figures than four cheaper ones.

I can't say that I'll solely commit to any one company but when things are hot, I'm all in.

when I started my collection years ago it was solely 21st Century Toys, then Dragon DML came along and upped the ante, but then SS came along with the Buck and their interesting wrist joints, then DiD, and now HT.

So far the only HT figures I own are the Cowboy James Dean, and the Wild Ones Marlon Brando which are both great, a little pale, but great. Now that HT is doing the Planet of the Apes I'm getting 2 Soldiers, 2 Captains, and 1 Ursus.

I guess it all depends on price, and what the company is offering. We all have our wants and desires and I think we will all come and go as our wants see fit.

For me it's SS and HT's for now.

I'm not getting rid of any of my figures and if SS makes some other ones I like, I'll get them. I don't care who makes them as long as I think they're great figures.

With the end of the LOTR 1/6 line, the only sideshow line I am still collecting the 1/6 SW. Even in that line, I am only getting the main characters. The last one I got was Han Solo. So pretty much my main 1/6 figures are coming from HT with exception of the DBZ medicom line.

I dunno why anyone would have to get rid of their current figures to stay with just HT. I know i'm not getting rid of my other figs, I'm talking about future purchases. What is this line of thought?

Well,
I only collect LOTR and SW from SS, and since LOTR has been cancelled... and I only want core SW characters well... not much stuff left for me with SS...
And as much as I'd love to get all of HT's stuff, I'll only be getting some of the items they offer... like HB only no Abe, MJ ( hoping they do other versions), P1 and that's about it...
