I hear ya..we might get the Stego since it's done and all..then the line be finished I guess..delays are never a good thing for any collectible line.

Don't let it get you down. Many of Sideshow's products get pushed back a month or so. Problems arise, and they have to deal with them accordingly. For all we know, they might have found out that making the Apatosaurus one single piece, causes too many breakages. If that were the case, they may have had to scrap or modify what they'd already made.

It just seems kinda odd that first the Tupu was month..now the Apato is 2 months delayed..what if the Stego or next VS Dio is 3 months ? I just know that when this usually happens to lines I collect it means they are starting a slow descent into oblivion..I hope it's not true though...sometimes I hate being right. :/

It is a little concerning, but I wouldn't read too much into it. It was probably just a QC issue of some sort so they have had to delay it.

I'm more concerned about the fact that the stego hasn't been shown and nothing else has been previewed or hinted. Fingers crossed for something at SDCC.

I really thought June for the Stego...but I guess it's up to them. That's also something I've been taking into account..SS def isn't showing us the teasers and info we used to get it seems. If it's something major holding up the Apato I hope we get to see it first..like if it required some resculpting or something.

Well, still no news of the Stegosaurus, and it looks like the Apatosaurus has been pushed back to July now.


I'm trying to grasp why this thing is getting pushed back so far, with out any word from Sideshow as to the cause. This is currently my most wanted piece from Sideshow, and it seems as if I'll never get it. Maybe I can pay one of the Chinese workers to grab one in kit form, and send it to Martin Garratt to be built up. That way, i'd get it before the end of June, and it would look way better than I know it will, with factory paint apps....

Dude I def sympathize with you. We've never had a Dinosauria piece be late til the Tupuxuara and it shipped the next month..this one is going on 2 months late. The Stego I swear we should have heard something unless it's being pushed back to 4th Quarter..and the Apato will be 3rd Quarter...we just won't have 4 pieces this year for once. It does kinda feel like SS is letting this line slowly drop off. I've heard nothing about guaranteed new pieces beyond the Stego. We should have had 3 maquettes and one VS Dio this year..but it doesn't look good. If there was info for us I would be satisfied like " the factory has run short on paint or this piece is difficult to pack so we're workign on it " but nothing..you never want a customer left in the dark where their imagination is free to roam.

Sideshow never explains the cause for delays, so I wouldn't read too much into that. I don't think a piece has ever been canceled after delays like this either. My concern with it being pushed back is more along the lines of QC issues that aren't completely resolved, but declared to be "good enough".

Since workers in their own factory sell molds to recasters, I see no reason for them not to offer their statues as resin kits. Well, for those that want to have the opportunity to get a competent artist paint the statue. That way, these pieces could get released much faster, and look a hell of alot better.

I just hope we see this and the Stegosaurus released. Even if nothing else gets released, I want to see these two make it, before the line gets shut down.


Thank goodness we have paleoartists like Shane, David, Galileo, Martin, Steve,etc. If Sideshow was the only way to obtain high end Dinosaur statues, we'd be screwed.

I will be crushed if the Stego doesn't get made, and honestly I am pretty worried about it not seeing the light of day.

I hate to see the line go away at all though. Even if they drop production to one piece a year I'd be happy.

SS is the best way to get nice affordable build/paint ups I have to say but we would hardly be hurting if they quit I guess...there are a LOT of paleo artists out there willing to work with collectors like us.

They may not explain delays..but what happened to all the teasers we used to get ? Seems the excitement they had has dried up a bit.

Completely agree with the second part. I hope they're just slowing the line and not killing it completely. It's too bad either way.

I wounder if this will be delayed again. The final flex pay was pushed to 10 July. The Buffy, Willow statue was pushed back to 25 July, and that is listed as coming in the next 30 days, yet this isn't?

I noticed it wasn't mentioned yet again in the newsletter as well. SS did overlook a Dinosauria piece before in the newsletter so that's possible..but it could also just be pushed yet again. If this one can't make it's release dates then just release another one..while we're waiting. It's going on 3 months since the Tupu was released..which just barely made it's Quarter. The Apato is def going to miss it's Quarter entirely it seems. 3rd Qtr was supposed to be the Stego or another VS Dio if all holds true to form...yet we haven't heard one word about a new piece or even a teaser.

I wouldn't jump that far..yet.

They haven't cancelled the Apato just kept moving it back..the Stego hasn't been mentioned at all officially yet...that makes me a little concerned about it as I had really thought June or before is when it would go up for pre-order.

I guess if they post up the Stego then the line is continuing...seeing it's release date will let us know how they are going about it. So we have to wait.

I know there should be a piece each quarter..with the Apato being bumped there will be no piece for 2nd quarter. Will it take the place of the 3rd quarter piece or will we get two pieces for 3rd quarter ? :?

I'm pretty sure Sideshow will put the Stegosaurus up for pre-order in the coming weeks. Their SDCC event is almost here, and that's when they announce a lot of new products and put said products up for pre-order.
