If the piece is properly budgeted for and you're spending your money on it then why is the cost an issue? I spend my own money on collectibles I'm interested in and my boyfriend spends his own money on collectibles he's interested in. I guess I'm one weird gal who thinks that one can do whatever they want with their money if after it's spent they can still support themselves financially.

And dragging significant others clothes shopping is the worst thing ever, ha! When I go shopping my boyfriend stays at home. I would never subject him to the mall and such unless he really wanted to tag along (which most of the time he doesn't, ha!).

It's official... Sounds like SideshowAlex is a keeper! Haha just joshin'

You seem very cool though. Sideshow was smart to hire you. What is your most recent/next collectible on order?

If you have a lot of money, maybe pay for a storage locker? $100 a month max probably. Or maybe store at a family members house?

Cost wise is simple. Explain in like I do. "I've been paying this off for a long time and couldn't just stop or I'd lose the money"

Ugh, I hate paying for storage lockers. It might eventually come to that, but not yet!

lmao, i go with, "no I've been had this on order" "paid for a longggg time ago" :)

Haha I say stuff like, "I've been paying like 25 dollars a month for over 2 years for this statue... If I stop I lose all that money"

Hah, I do the same thing.

It's more that she isn't a collector so she doesn't wholly get spending $600 on a collectible. She'd rather I be spending that money on upgrading a vacation. I didn't mean to sound like I'm not allowed to spend my money on what I want, just that she rolls her eye at it. We keep our money separate and have lasted 10 years on the principle that we don't really hassle each other over money.

However I have been curtailing purchases. She needs to take some significant time off work and I'll be picking up the slack, which is fine, and we are also both buckling down so that we can make a down payment on a house in 3-6 months, so we agreed the collecting will go on hold for a while. It's really that this huge piece just happens to be showing up about a week after I told her we were going into saving mode lol.

Last two were Hot Toys Batman and Robin 1960s TV Series Sixth Scale Figures. I also recently picked up a few of the funko little horror figures (got a Ash, Pennywise, Freddy Kruegar, Ghostface, Captain Spaulding and Sam from Trick or Treat) and a POP! Ash Figure. I'm still toying with the idea of getting the Knifehead Statue or Jack the Ripper PF (though if I wait longer on Jack, I'm going to miss the opportunity, ha!).

Ah. Well, sounds like you'll be doing a nice little tap dance when that big box arrives soon, ha! I hope she'll think it ties in nicely with one of your rooms. ;-)

Big time movie fan huh? Top 3 movies go!

The Thing, Sandlot, Captain America the Winter Soldier.

Also apocalypse looks great next to your skaar in that pic earlier. Probably the "tattoos"!

You should get Jack while you can. It is one of my favorite pieces.

Apoc is looking great. I don't have mine until Tuesday :)yess: can't wait!) but from the clearer pics it looks like this isn't that far off if at all from the prototype. Once you account for lighting and camera settings, and for any professional pics take into account digital work like highlights, shadowing, bringing out details and color edits, I'm not sure much if anything has really been changed from the proto to production piece. The colors on Mamba's pics look great.

Decided that I'll be rejecting my Apocalypse PF EX if it gets converted and instead I'll be PO'ing the new Doom PF next week :) was a big decision but once I thought about it I think I'm more of a Doom fan over Apocalypse plus I'm sure we'll see another movie rendition of him after the next installment from the X-Men movies :)

Also the fact that my Doom LSF got pushed back to September kinda made me make my mind up too :(

Btw, if anyone is interested in the Apocalypse PF Exclusive and provided my EX converts, I'd be willing to help someone out :)

lmao Alex, I think you missed the part about my awesome wife lol but I love buying her "Her collectibles" too (mainly shoes lol). A little understanding goes a long way

Sent from the **** Pit of the Millenium Falcon

I call BS a thousand times on that comment. All you have to do is look at other company paint jobs to see that production and proto can match up. And I don't care about how much this costs compared to that. The bottom line is it can and has and will be done in the future.

Examples: Gentle Giant Honey Trap and Sucker Punch statues
XM Studios Captain America
OH...and gasp....some of SS's early statues.

With that being said, this is still an awesome statue and a well done neat paint job. It just needs to be richer in color.....that doesn't mean a different or lighter or darker color so much. Its like you can tell a one coated paint job on a wall as opposed to a couple coats of paint. It feels and looks fuller. That is what I mean about this Apoc. I don't know what others who are complaining about mean.

GG Honey Trap = No license fees and 50% more than a licensed PF.

XM = Somewhere in the neibourhood of 50% to 100% more cost. Small shop with one license and limited production runs do to very small market

Apples to oranges.

Nice. Do you mostly collect 1/6 scale stuff or do you rag tag it?

Thanks for participating here Alex! You're a pleasure to have around.

From Rhy on SF... poor paint or muted my ***

most definitely. you can tell the factory took their time w/ this one. Nothing but clean paint lines through & through...I am totally geeking out! It seems that no detail was overlooked & of course Canale is the best there is. Great stuff

I want mine asap…monday can't get here soon enough…and I honestly don't know if they'll pump out another apoc to go with the movie…I actually don't think they will. (anytime soon) They've had the license forever and haven't came out with classics like magneto, mr sinister, a juggernaut (in PF form), brown wolvie which has been hotly requested and the most popular x-men character, and others. I don't see them hitting apoc again for awhile, bcz while to us he is big, the public for the most hasn't heard of him until just, just now. and IF they did do another, id honestly prefer this gorgeous comic version than say a kid or movie version.

I don't think the kid will be how Apocalypse is in the next film. I think that was a shot in the past in his youth. I hope they have him using his alien tech in the next film as a grown adult.

Yes! They announced the film will take place in the 80's this time. Some alien tech would make an awesome input for that time period.

You will regret dumping the Apo for Doom.
